Indicted and Arrested! Former Jasper, TX Police Chief's Son, Ronnie Pearson, gets Child Rape Charges

The East Texas Corruption Stories Continue (with no end in sight). You Heard the Story Here First!
Ronnie Pearson

I have just confirmed with the Jasper County Jail that Former Jasper, TX Police Chief's son, Ronnie Pearson, has been indicted and Booked on charges that include sexual assault of a child and indecency with a Child. Kudos to Texas Ranger Ken Parks and Hardin County District Attorney David Sheffield for investigating and securing the indictment.

Ronnie Pearson was indicted March 26th, 2013 by a Jasper County Grand Jury. His indictment did not initially appear on the list of indictments from the Grand Jury because it was a field indictment. That means the indictment was not released to the public until Ronnie Pearson had been arrested and served the indictment and charges. After I posted this article, KBMT 12 News is the only news outlet so far that has run a story about this shocking news, Great Job KBMT!

I first broke a story last year revealing that there was an investigation into Fired Jasper Chief Rodney Pearson Covering-up of Child Rape Charges Against his Son Ronnie Pearson. This story was double shocking because, not only did you have allegations of a child getting raped and then allegedly forced by the rapist to get an abortion at Planned Parenthood, but you also had allegations that controversial Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson had tried to cover up the rape and not investigate. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any local media to cover this shocking story because the investigation was secret and so the media could not really verify the allegations like I was able to with my sources. I even had some people who probably thought I made the whole story up, haha. Well, I certainly do not make things up and this indictment is finally the proof that should get the media to cover this shocking story.

This indictment against Rodney Pearson's son is also more proof to show that Rodney Pearson was fired from being Police Chief for good cause. The left wing national media circled the town of Jasper last year with outrageous claims that Rodney Pearson was being fired only because he is black.

After being fired, Rodney Pearson played the race card, alleging that he was fired because he is black. Those who opposed Rodney Pearson as Police Chief included both black and white Jasper Residents. Those who opposed Pearson as Police Chief have always presented evidence showing that their opposition to Pearson was not about race and instead was due to him lying about his criminal record, lack of qualifications compared to other applicants, accusations that Pearson discriminated against White police officers and fired/demoted them, and other problems with his performance as Police Chief, including allegations of him committing sexual assault. Furthermore, the same Jasper residents who opposed Pearson have overwhelmingly just elected a black conservative State Representative James White over his white opponent.

TX Planned Parenthood Accused of Allowing Teen Abortion Without Parental Notification and Not Alerting Police to Teen’s Adult Boyfriend

A Planned Parenthood Clinic in Lufkin, Texas is being accused of performing an abortion on a 15 year old girl (name withheld) without the parents knowing and without alerting police to the young teen’s 25 year old boyfriend Ronnie Pearson who allegedly took her there to get the abortion.

According to a source in the Jasper Police Department, when the parents found out about their daughter and her 25 year old boyfriend, they went to the Jasper Police Department to file a complaint against Ronnie Pearson, the accusation being rape (statutory) of their young daughter. The Police Chief at the time in Jasper, TX was Rodney Pearson, Ronnie Pearson’s dad, so the complaint went nowhere.

The parents were not happy so they went to the Texas Rangers to investigate.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed this Texas Ranger’s investigation against Ronnie Pearson, but no document could be released to protect the identity of the minor child because the investigation involves accusations of child abuse/child sexual assault.

The alleged cover-up of a child rape complaint by former Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson is a story all by itself and can be seen here:  Fired Jasper Chief Rodney Pearson Cover-up of Child Rape Charges Against Son Ronnie Pearson Investigated by TX Rangers

Assuming this investigation ends in charges being filed, there are many questions that will hopefully be answered when more details of the complaint and investigation come out in trial.

Did Planned Parenthood break the Texas Abortion Laws?

How did a young teen get an abortion without parental notification?

Why were the authorities not alerted if it is true that the 25 year old boyfriend brought her to get the abortion?

Did Ronnie Pearson’s father (Former Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson) help in any way to bypass the laws and get this minor an abortion?

Fired Jasper Chief Rodney Pearson Cover-up of Child Rape Charges Against Son Ronnie Pearson Investigated by TX Rangers

The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed this Texas Ranger’s investigation against Ronnie Pearson, the son of Fired Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson. This Cover-up is more fuel for the fire to show that former Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson was fired for good cause and not because he is black, as Rodney Pearson alleges.

Several months ago, I received information that Rodney Pearson, before he was fired from being the Jasper Police Chief, had covered up a complaint from a 14/15 year old girl’s parents alleging that 25 year old Ronnie Pearson (Rodney Pearson’s son) had been having sex with their teen daughter (her name will not be revealed), got her pregnant, and took her to Planned Parenthood in Lufkin, TX to get an abortion without the parent’s knowledge or consent. The parents wanted rape charges filed against Pearson so they went to the Jasper Police Department to file a complaint. The father of the man they were filing a complaint against was Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson so, needless to say, the complaint went nowhere.

The parents were not happy so they called the Texas Rangers. Texas Ranger Ken Parks went to Jasper to investigate. According to a source in the Police Department, Police Chief Rodney Pearson and Captain Curtis Frame told Ken Parks that they received the complaint against Ronnie and they told Ronnie to stop partying so much, but they did not do anything further with the complaint, to which Ranger Parks replied that they were stupid for doing that because now it is a State investigation.

These allegations were shocking, but I knew I could not write an article about this unless I had some kind of proof to back up what was said.

I went to the Jasper Police Department to request information about the complaint against Ronnie Pearson but the Jasper Police Department said they had no record of the complaint.

I then contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety to request information about the Texas Ranger Complaint/Investigation into the rape/police cover-up allegations against Ronnie Pearson and Rodney Pearson (see my email request to TX DPS below). The Texas DPS replied back to me saying that they have identified the investigation files against Ronnie Pearson, but that they could not release them to me because the documents involved allegations of child abuse/sexual abuse/sexual assault. The Texas DPS said in their response that they were exempt from releasing the documents because of protections for the child victim (see response from TX DOS below).

The Texas DPS might not have been able to release any documents about the case to me, but what their response did do is confirm to me that there are allegations and an investigation of child sexual assault against Rodney Pearson’s son, Ronnie Pearson. Furthermore, the fact that this is a Texas Ranger case and not being handled by the local police department is evidence to support the allegation that there was a cover-up by Pearson’s police Department which prompted the Texas Rangers to get involved and investigate.

Over the last couple of months, I have had the opportunity to talk to Ronnie Pearson’s mother, Julie Ann Trolinger Fish, about the allegations against her son. Julie says she divorced Rodney Pearson years ago, but not before having to suffer through him beating her and cheating on her. She said that she has been very distraught because of the allegations against her son Ronnie and that it is too much for her to bear so she has given it to God. She said that she loves her son and taught Ronnie the right values as a child, but that things changed when Ronnie went to live with her ex-husband Rodney Pearson. She said Rodney was a bad influence on her son and let Ronnie run wild with no rules. She said Ronnie had no structure under Rodney and that Rodney taught him that a title gives you empowerment and lets you be above the law.

Rodney Pearson has recently played the race card, alleging that he was fired because he is black.

This is even more evidence to show that opposition to black Rodney Pearson is not due to racism.
This new allegation against Pearson, (that in his official Police Chief capacity he covered up a child rape complaint against his son), is the most shocking evidence against Pearson so far and will likely be used against Pearson to combat Pearson’s lawsuit alleging that he was fired for no other reason than because he is black.

Subject: TX Rangers Open Records Information Request 6/25/2012
To: ogc.webmaster@dps.texas.gov
Cc: David Bellow

Howdy,

I would like whatever information can be released regarding a case that that the Texas Rangers are working on.

I believe that the case is being handled by Ken Parks of the Beaumont Division.

The complaint/investigation is against Ronnie Pearson.

Pearson (about 25 y/o) is being investigated for allegedly having sex with a 15 year old girl (girl’s name withheld from article) and then taking the girl to have an abortion.

The parents of (girl’s name withheld from article) I believe are the ones who had called the Rangers asking them to investigate because the Jasper, TX Police Department was not investigating the allegations because the police chief at the time was Ronnie Pearson's father.

I believe that should be enough information for you to be able to look up the complaint/investigation.

I would like to get any information that can be released at this time (at least for sure I should be able to get confirmation and basic details of the complaint/investigation)

Thanks!

Sincerely,
David Bellow

RE: Public Information Request for investigation involving Ronnie Pearson in Jasper, Texas (PIR # 12-2091)

DATE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED: 6/25/2012
DATE REQUEST FOR RULING SUBMITTED TO ATTORNEY GENERAL: 7/10/2012

Dear Attorney General Abbott:
The Department of Public Safety received the above-referenced request for information from David Bellow on June 25, 2012. Due to Independence Day on July 4, 2012, our offices were closed; therefore, we believe this request for a ruling on disclosure is timely made in accordance with section 552.301 of the Government Code. We believe some or all of the requested information is excepted from required public disclosure pursuant to sections 552.101 and 552.108 of the Government Code. Accordingly, we are requesting a ruling regarding the release of these records.

Section 552.101 of the Government Code states that “[i]nformation is excepted from the requirements of Section 552.021 if it is information considered to be confidential by law, either constitutional, statutory, or by judicial decision.” This section encompasses section 261.201 of the Family Code, which states:

(a) Except as provided by Section 261.203, the following information is confidential, is not subject to public release under Chapter 552, Government Code, and may be disclosed only for purposes consistent with this code and applicable federal or state law or under rules adopted by an investigating agency:

(1) a report of alleged or suspected abuse or neglect made under this chapter and the identity of the person making the report; and

(2) except as otherwise provided in this section, the files, reports, records, communications, audiotapes, videotapes, and working papers used or developed in an investigation under this chapter or in providing services as a result of an investigation.
(d) The adoptive parents of a child who was the subject of an investigation and an adult who was the subject of an investigation as a child are entitled to examine and make copies of any report, record, working paper, or other information in the possession, custody, or control of the state that pertains to the history of the child. The department may edit the documents to protect the identity of the biological parents and any other person whose identity is confidential, unless this information is already known to the adoptive parents or is readily available through other sources, including the court records of a suit to terminate the parent-child relationship under Chapter 161.
...
(k) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), an investigating agency, other than the department or the Texas Youth Commission, on request, shall provide to the parent, managing conservator, or other legal representative of a child who is the subject of reported abuse or neglect, or to the child if the child is at least 18 years of age, information concerning the reported abuse or neglect that would otherwise be confidential under this section. The investigating agency shall withhold information under this subsection if the parent, managing conservator, or other legal representative of the child requesting the information is alleged to have committed the abuse or neglect.

(l) Before a child or a parent, managing conservator, or other legal representative of a child may inspect or copy a record or file concerning the child under Subsection (k), the custodian of the record or file must redact:

(1) any personally identifiable information about a victim or witness under 18 years of age unless that victim or witness is:

(A) the child who is the subject of the report; or
(B) another child of the parent, managing conservator, or other legal representative requesting the information;

(2) any information that is excepted from required disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code, or other law; and

(3) the identity of the person who made the report.

The requested information relates to an investigation into alleged child abuse under chapter 261 of the Family Code. See Family Code § 261.001(1)(E) (definition of child abuse includes continuous sexual abuse of young child or children under Penal Code § 21.02, indecency with a child under Penal Code § 21.11, sexual assault under Penal Code § 22.011, or aggravated sexual assault under Penal Code § 22.021). In addition, the requested information consists of files, reports, records, communications, or working papers used or developed in the course of the investigation into child abuse; therefore, this information is within the scope of section 261.201. Additionally, the Department has not adopted a rule governing the release of this type of information. Further, the requestor has not stated that he is an adoptive parent, parent, managing conservator, or other legal representative of the child who is the subject of the reported abuse or neglect. Accordingly, the Department believes these records are confidential by law, as set forth in section 261.201(a) of the Family Code, and should therefore be excepted from required public disclosure pursuant to section 552.101. See Open Records Decision No. 440 at 2 (1986) (predecessor statute).

An investigation into the above-referenced incident is ongoing. Thus, the Department believes the requested information is excepted from required public disclosure pursuant to section 552.108(a)(1) of the Government Code, which states:

(a) Information held by a law enforcement agency or prosecutor that deals with the detection, investigation, or prosecution of crime is excepted from the requirements of Section 552.021 if:

(1) release of the information would interfere with the detection, investigation, or prosecution of crime.

Because this is an ongoing investigation, the release of potential evidence would interfere with the investigation and prosecution of this case. See Houston Chronicle Publ’g Co. v. City of Houston, 531 S.W.2d 177, 184-85 (Tex. Civ. App.—Houston [14th Dist.] 1975), writ ref’d n.r.e., 536 S.W.2d 559 (Tex. 1976) (per curiam). Consequently, the Department believes these responsive records are excepted from required public disclosure at least until the investigation is complete.

Please find enclosed the request from David Bellow, the notice of our request for a ruling sent to the requestor, and the responsive records we wish to except from required disclosure. Please feel free to contact me at (512) 424-2890 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

EXPOSED: Republicans for Obama Led by Racist Convict Bishop L J Guillory

Many conservatives will be holding their nose to vote for Romney because Obama MUST go, but I don't know of ANY conservative or Republican who is going to support (or campaign for) Obama. There are people out there like that though (some of it has to do with race based voting), and they are pretty much NUTS! I mean seriously, it takes a nut job to say they are Republican and be for Obama at the same time.

When I heard about "Republicans for Obama" I was not surprised to find that the president of the organization (and probably the sole member of this group) was a nut job who I happen to already have exposed recently.

Bishop L J Guillory, the President of Republicans for Obama is (in my opinion based on facts) a Racist Convict trying to Con People into believing his delusions. He likely uses money donated to his "non-profits" to pay for his many lavish trips to Hollywood. He has an infatuation with the Masons and he believes that Mitt Romney is part if a plot by the illuminate.

I first heard of Bishop L J Guillory when he came to Jasper, TX last year to defend council members who were getting recalled. The council members were getting recalled for hiring Rodney Pearson as the new police chief even though Pearson was at the bottom of the candidate qualification list, and Pearson even lied about having a criminal record. Guillory of course claimed the recall was a result of racism, even though I interviewed black residents in Jasper who were in favor of the recall due to the fact that Pearson was not qualified and was hired in a backroom deal.

Guillory is the self titled "Ombudsman General." According to officials in Jasper, Guillory was wearing a badge and posed as a Department of Justice Official. After some investigating, I found out that Guillory spent 7 years and 7 months of a 15 year sentence in prison in California. His past criminal history includes charges of kidnapping, burglary, robbery, and even trying to prevent/dissuade a witness to testify.  Guillory has told me that he is innocent and was actually granted clemency but he rejected it. This turned out to be false because, in reality, court records show that Guillory unsuccessfully tried to get out of prison by appealing his case. The court rejected Guillory's appeals and said that Guillory was rightfully convicted by a jury.

Guillory claims to be a Republican, but he has publicly praised Obama and has posted up on his blog personal pictures of him with radical liberal Democrats like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

He claims to be a Bishop, but he has no religious degree (fake degrees do not count) and he is not connected to any church. He got his ordination certification from an online website where you type in your name and print out the certification for a few bucks. He uses the term "Bishop" likely to get people to trust him, but his actions certainly contradict what he professes. I discovered that Guillory has Sex Parties and Strippers at "his" house in California. Guillory is even on video bragging about it! See video below:

Guillory spends his time running an organization (Ombudsman International aka Save America Foundation) that he claims is meant to help people, but I do not know of anything that his organization has accomplished. Guillory shows up to situations where black and whites are involved and he pulls the race card and acts like some kind of government official who is there to fix things. in one situation, a black student stabbed and killed his white teacher. Guillory showed up defending the murderer and of course pulled the race card. Guillory was kicked out of the courtroom and was banned from the premises. In the video I posted above, Guillory even claimed to have lowered crime in the the top ten cities most crime filled cities in America!

Guillory spent time in prison and (I think) he used that time to think about how he can con people by claiming to help people. I believe his purpose is to use the guise of helping people as a way to get himself on the news and to get money to fund his lavish lifestyle. He uses his causes as a way to meet and to mingle with Hollywood celebrities. I do not know of any job he has, besides traveling the country stirring up trouble and mingling with celebrities as the Ombudsman General. With no financial source, I wonder if he is using donations to his "organization" as his personal financial source. He seems to be the only member of his organizations and it is registered as a non-profit, so he really has no oversight and pays no taxes.

I also believe that he also gets money from suing people. Everyone who speaks out against Guillory (including myself) has received the threat of Legal Action by Guillory unless we apologize and remove bad (factual) info about Guillory from online. When I first exposed Guillory I was threatened as well, butI did not back down from posting the truth about Guillory. In response, Guillory posted on his blog that I am a racist, part of the KKK and went on to attack my bother by calling her names. He did not respond to the facts I presented and only responded by making a baseless accusation or racism and calling me names. This man is a fraud and a complete nutjob. Yep, he fits right in with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Blacks in Jasper, TX Say CNN & NY Times LIED in Racism Story about Police Chief Rodney Pearson Firing

Black Residents in Jasper, TX are stepping up and speaking out against CNN and the New York Times. The Former Police Chief, Rodney Pearson, was fired and the City Council members who hired him were recalled. Pearson is black. Pearson says he was fired because of his race even though he was fired because of, among other things, his low qualifications, low performance, and a criminal record. The liberal media gets contacted by Pearson's race baiting lawyer and next thing you know there are stories on CNN and the New York Times alleging that the white people in Jasper are racist and did not want a black person in a leadership position in this city.

This is CLEARLY false and many black residents have stepped forward to speak out against the claims that Pearson was fired because he was black, and to demand that these liberal media outlets correct the false and misleading information in their stories.

When Pearson was fired I wrote an article predicting that the race card would be pulled and I sure was right.

Below is a breakdown of some of the lies and misleading information that these liberal media outlets have spewed:

1) These media outlets try to make it appear as though only whites were against the hiring if Black Police Chief Rodney Pearson when in reality there were MANY vocal black residents who were against the hiring of Pearson and who supported the recall of the black Council members for hiring Pearson based on race and not qualifications. These liberal news outlets purposely did not interview the black residents who were for the firing of Pearson and for the recall of the Council members because that would not fit into their story of racism.

One Jasper resident who I interviewed over the phone, Michael Larkin, is a black local businessman and he opposed Pearson as Police Chief. Larkin was even physically threatened and had his business threatened by a small group of black pastors and supporters of Pearson because Larkin was black and was opposing the black Police Chief. One black pastor who went to Larkin and threatened him is Mr Norsworthy, the husband of one of the recalled Council members. Larkin stood his ground and said that he supports people based on qualifications and not race. Funny how those little details did not make it into the liberal news stories. I did talk to Larkin though and Larkin had many interesting things to say. You can read more of what Larkin had to say by scrolling down to further in this article.

Another outspoken black Jasper Resident, Sister Celentine King, can been seen in online videos at City Council meetings defending the firing of Pearson due to qualifications and not race. You can read some of the comments from King and a link to the video of the meeting by scrolling down further in this article.

2) These media outlets make it appear as though the white people in the city were simply not happy with a black person in power on the council or in the police department. These liberal news outlets of course did not mention that Jasper has elected MANY black leaders in the past with no problems or controversy. Even the black Council members who were recalled for hiring Pearson NEVER had any problems with being a black council member. It was only after they hired Pearson when their troubles began. At the same time that the Pearson controversy was going on, the people of Jasper overwhelmingly voted to elect the first black State Representative in East Texas (Republican State Rep. James White). The media outlets did not interview any of these past black elected officials who never had a problem and they did not bother to interview the newly elected black State Rep. James White. KJAS Radio News did talk to James White about the situation in Jasper and that interview can be seen by clicking here.

These liberal media outlets clearly missed the ball here. If they reported the whole truth they would know this is not about white people in Jasper not wanting a black leader. The firing and recall is clearly about these Council members being help responsible by the voters for hiring a bad police Chief with a criminal record. In fact, the media also does not point out that the majority of the population in Jasper is black so it HAD to have taken black people voting against Pearson and these council members for them to be removed.

3) The New York Times started out their story by talking about a supposedly segregated cemetery in Jasper as proof of past and current racism in Jasper. Well, two black funeral home directors in Jasper say that the New York Times article about segregated cemeteries and a fence separating black and whites is a bunch of lies! Funny that the New York Times did not interview the black owned funeral homes or black funeral directors when writing their story about where people get buried in Jasper. KJAS however DID interview these black funeral home directors. These black directors say that the New York Times article is wrong. You can read some of the comments from these black funeral home directors by scrolling further down in this article.

4) These media outlets also do not mention that Cade Bernsen, the lawyer representing Pearson who called the media and declares his firing as racism, is known as a race-baiter who seeks any situation where he can cry racism. Bernsen is also currently suing the City of Orange on false claims of racism because Bernsen says a black police officer, Robert Arnold, was fired because of his race even though Robert Arnold was fired because he killed a white unarmed war veteran, James Whitehead, and because Arnold had a history of violence like punching a teenage girl in the face and breaking his partner's leg with a metal pipe.

5) The media does not seem to care about the several lawsuits that have been filed against the City of Jasper by more qualified white candidates who say they were discriminated against when the black members of the former City Council hired Pearson based on race. The media did not mention the fact that there are lawsuits against the city from white officers who were fired or demoted as soon as Pearson became the Police Chief. If any racism or discrimination did occur in this situation in Jasper, it was discrimination against the several well qualified applicants and officers who were fired or passed over so that a less qualified Pearson could be picked in a backroom deal. Some media outlets do not even mention these many lawsuits in their story and some only gave a sentence or two mentioning the white lawsuits, but then using the rest of the entire article to talk about the one discrimination lawsuit filed by Pearson.

6) The media lied about Pearson's involvement in the James Byrd Jr. dragging investigation to try to tie that dragging into this story. The media had to somehow try to emotionally connect the firing of Pearson to the dragging of James Byrd Jr. 14 years ago. Not only is it wrong to try to connect this firing with the horrendous murder by random individuals who have since been convicted and some of them even put to death already. Yet Pearson and the papers try to make that connection. They have to lie though just to even make their story look good. The New York Times says that Pearson, then a state trooper, was the first law enforcement officer at the scene of Mr. Byrd’s killing and found his body. This is false. According to the Sheriff’s Department Dispatcher Alice Rector Duckworth who took the call the day of the James Byrd Jr murder: “Rodney Pearson had NOTHING to do with finding his body as this newscast would have you believe. The first responders were Joe Sterling, Tommy Robinson, and the late Sam Sanders. Rodney was nothing but a road block cop. It had nothing to do with "highway patrol duties" it was a murder not a wreck.” Pearson and his attorneys are lying and sensationalizing the Byrd murder to perpetuate their own legal endeavors.

7) The media had no problem mentioning a couple of random comments on Facebook to make the people against Pearson look racist, and yet they ignore the racists and threatening posts on Facebook by pro Pearson individuals, like Jessie Land, talking about "running a train" on a woman who wanted Pearson fired (see Facebook screenshot further down in this article). They also ignored the detail of the statement made at a City Council meeting saying that the city needs a black Police Chief so they have to hire Pearson.

8) Pearson did not meet the basic job requirements, was at the bottom of the list of applicant qualifications, and even lied about his criminal record!

TWENTY THREE total applicants applied for this position. Pearson was among the least qualified yet he was considered "automatically" a finalist by the previous council.

After Pearson's hiring, it was revealed that he had a criminal background and lied about it on his application. That ALONE would get most people fired!

Pearson had never been promoted beyond a trooper after 20 years of DPS service. He was a state trooper (highway patrolman) with the Department of Public Safety and he never served in any type of supervisory position. He had no municipal experience investigating crimes like murders and only dealt with traffic incidents.

Pearson did not even met the minimum requirements for the job. THE BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS POSTED BY THE CITY OF JASPER 02/17/11: BACHELORS DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE OR 7 + YEARS EXPERIENCE IN MANAGEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL AND RELATED DUTIES - PEARSON HAD NEITHER! The top applicant had 19 years municipal experience/Pearson NONE, top applicant 3740 education hours/Pearson 61, top applicant 2843 training hours/Pearson 1220, top applicant 4 year degree/Pearson NONE, top applicant advanced degree/Pearson NONE.

The recalled council gave him a 5k pay raise just a few months after taking the job (even though pay raises are not allowed until after one year on the job), and then they Council even attempted to put him into a contract months after hiring so that future City Councils could not fire him.

Pearson took two or more vacations in his first year (policy/procedure requires one year employment to qualify for vacation) removed a brand new patrol vehicle from the streets had it re-painted and accessorized for him to drive without approval leaving our City short a patrol vehicle, excessive spending/over budget, demoted seasoned officers without reason. Pearson did not even bother to show up at major crime investigations that the Police Chief of the city should have shown up to.

Additional Supporting Information (Interviews, Facebook Screenshots, etc)

Interview with Michael Larkin - (Owner of Local BBQ business)

Larkin is a black business man in Jasper, TX who not only opposed Pearson as as unqualified Police Chief, but he also was in favor of recalling the black Council members who hired Pearson. Larkin was even threatened for having a recall sign on his property. Did CNN of the New York Times care to call this man? No. This interview would not fit into their story of only white people opposing Pearson and the council members.

Below is what Michael Larkin had to say:

I don't think he was fired because of racism. I believe it had to do with his job performance. I feel like he wasn't doing his job. I think the media is trying to blow it up and stir things up over here again. I run a business and most of my business is white people and there are no problems with them buying from me.

If you score the lowest on the ranking and you score a 2 and there are people who score better like an 8 then you shouldn't get the job

It doesn't matter what color you are, I think the best person should get the job.

The Pearson group even threatened me. Preacher Norsworthy (husband of Jasper City Councilwoman Norsworthy) went to him at football game and threatened to boycott my business because I do business and serve white people in town. I was mad they he would threaten me like that.

I don't care what color you are, I am not going to stop being friends with people because another friend my same color tells me to not to be friends with someone of another color.

I think it was wrong to put him in because he was less qualified. Then the first week he takes a vacation and then in a backdoor meeting you get with the council members and get them to raise your pay. You have to perform first before the council should decide to give you a raise.

Pearson and the captain never showed up to big incidents. There was one incident where they went to a house and the man was in bed and they wanted to get the man out of the house so they sent a dog in to eat up the man in his bed to get him out. Pearson never even showed up to that incident to tell these officer what to do to get the guy out of the house. There were many late night and major incidents that Pearson did not show up to.

below is a portion of an Article on KJAS, Black Funeral Home Directors Dispute NY Times Article:

A New York Times article published on Friday, and written by reporter Manny Fernandez, is being disputed by the directors of two traditionally black funeral homes in Jasper.

”What that newspaper is saying is incorrect, and you can tell that reporter to call me and I’ll tell him”. Those were the words of Dory Coleman, owner of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper, which traditionally serves the African American community.

The premise of the article was to tell the story of the hiring and firing of Police Chief Rodney Pearson. However, the article inexplicably dwelled on the Jasper City Cemetery on North Main Street, and an old iron fence that was put there in the early 1900’s to keep free roaming livestock from disturbing the graves, but was portrayed in the article as a dividing line between black and white burial plots.

Calling it the “segregated cemetery”, the story said “…Jasper City Cemetery remains segregated: blacks, including Mr. Byrd (James Byrd, Jr.), are buried near the bottom of the hill, while whites are buried at the top”.

”Not True” said Coleman. “Our funeral home has buried people, both black and white people, in all sections of that cemetery”.
