Glenn Hegar for Comptroller Walks the Walk – Passed Massive Tax Cuts

Many people have wondered how I came to the conclusion to personally support Senator Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts over the other candidates. The answer is simple. I have seen Glenn Hegar walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

In the 2013 Texas legislative session, Senator Glenn Hegar pushed through a massive franchise tax relief bill that cut taxes on businesses by hundreds of millions of dollars. Interestingly enough, the bill was introduced in the Texas House by Harvey Hildebran, who is also running for Texas Comptroller.

The following is what puts Glenn Hegar clearly on top. Hegar looked at Hildebran’s bill and said that the bill did not do enough to relieve businesses from the Texas franchise tax because it did not help all businesses. Hegar expanded the bill to give all businesses relief from the Texas Franchise tax. Hegar understood that laws should be fair and equitable and that some businesses should not get overlooked while other businesses got relief.

I am not the only person who noticed the outstanding work of Glenn Hegar. Michael Quinn Sullivan and his group Texans for Fiscal Responsibility endorsed Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller.

Just in case you were wondering if Glenn Hegar is well rounded, Hegar has also received the top social conservative endorsements to go along with his strong fiscal conservative endorsements.

Hegar was even endorsed by social conservative champion, and former Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, David Barton.

So there you have it, Glenn Hegar is the best of both worlds. He does not just talk the talk. He walks the walk.

Glenn Hegar’s New Ad Hits Home – Cut Waste and Inefficiency – Texas Comptroller Race Update

The Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller campaign has come out with a new tv ad. The new ad is titled “Our Future.”

One of my favorite lines of this new ad is that Hegar chaired a committee to eliminate waste and inefficiency in government, saving taxpayers millions. I did not even know this about Hegar, but I am glad I do.

Cutting waste and inefficiency in government is so important right now. There is so much waste on all levels of government. Taxes keep having to be raised in order for the government entities to be able to keep up with their pork spending.

The title of Hegar’s new ad is fitting, “Our Future.” It is fitting because we will not have a future if we do not reign in government spending. Our kids will most certainly not have a future if we do not stop waste spending and inefficiency in government. We have to stop thinking about only the here and now. We must start thinking about our future. I know that I cannot afford any more taxes. I fear that by the time my son has a family of his own, the taxes will be to high to even be able to pay.

Think about it, we are taxed from the local level all the way up to the federal level. There is waste in school spending. They build million dollar stadiums instead of paying teachers. There is waste in county spending. I live in Hardin County and taxes were just raised in order to pay for new Chevy Tahoes and pay raises. The Federal government forces us to buy healthcare or face a penalty. Even if we do get healthcare, the prices have skyrocketed so we are all paying more now.

We have to start cutting pork spending on all levels of government. I am confident that Glenn Hegar will be able to do just that if he is elected as the next Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. His experience as the Chair of a committee to cut waste and inefficiency in government gives Hegar the unique experience of knowing where and how to find waste spending and cut it.

The conservative community is waking up and realizing that Glenn Hegar is the best candidate in the race for Texas Comptroller. From Social conservatives to fiscal conservatives. It has been mentioned already in previous articles, but the impressive list of Hegar’s endorsements is worth mentioning again.

Senator Donna Campbell is one of the latest people to join a growing list of conservative leaders and organizations to support Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller. You might remember Senator Campbell as one of the women who went toe to toe with Wendy Davis in the Senate Pro Life Bill hearings. Senator Campbell is now standing with Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller.

Glenn Hegar Has the Momentum, Endorsed by Tea Parties and Half of State GOP Officials

Glenn Hegar for Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts seems to have all the momentum in the race right now. The Texas Comptroller is one of the few, statewide elected officials. It is not a glamorous position, but it is a very powerful and important position.

The race for Texas Comptroller will not end on the March 4^th, 2014 Republican Primary Election Day. The Comptroller’s race will likely go to a runoff along with the Texas Attorney General and LT Governor and Railroad Commissioner races.

Glenn Hegar is certainly beginning to stand out among the crowd in his race. He is being embraced by Tea Party groups and grassroots organizations all across the entire State of Texas.

Just a week ago, Hegar was endorsed by the highly respected Texas Patriots PAC. Texas Patriots PAC is one of the top Tea Party organizations in the entire State of Texas. They are based out of the Woodlands, TX.

Also this past week, Hegar was recommended by the Montgomery County TEA Party.

Wrapping up the past week, Hegar also announced that half of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) members endorsed him for Texas Comptroller.

I was on the SREC recently. Just in case anyone was thinking of saying that Hegar was only endorsed by moderates on the SREC, I looked over the list of SREC member endorsements, and I know a few of them personally and know them to be very good conservatives. From Mark Ramsey and Valoree Swanson in SD 7, to Naomi Narvaiz in SD 21, and many others on the list.

The SREC, although not well known, is an important group of individuals. The SREC is the committee that governs and manages the Republican Party for the entire State of Texas. There are 31 Senate Districts in Texas. Every 2 year at the Republican State Convention, each Senate District in Texas elects a man and a woman to serve on the State Republican Executive Committee.

Oh, and did I mention that Grover Norquist, the President of Americans for Tax Reform and an NRA board member, has recently endorsed Glenn Hegar?

Look, I could go on and on about all the conservative support that Glenn Hegar is getting in his campaign for Texas Comptroller, but I think you get the picture.

If support from grassroots conservatives is any indication, Hegar certainly has the momentum in the race right now.

How Could Debra Medina Support Pro Abortion Joe Straus who used Democrats to Beat Republicans?

The Texas 2014 Republican Primary Election has more hotly contested races than I have ever seen. From the race for Lieutenant Governor to the race for Attorney General all the way down to County Judge Races. One big race seems to always go overlooked though. The Texas Comptroller Republican Primary Race never gets much publicity, but it is a very important statewide office.

I would not be a good voter or a good citizen if I did not look into who the candidates are in the Texas Comptroller race, and then try to find out who is the best candidate.

There are 4 candidates in the Texas Comptroller race, Glenn Hegar, Harvey Hilderbran, Debra Medina, and Raul Torres.

Right away I am drawn to Texas Senator Glenn Hegar because I have seen him over the years and he has been a very strong conservative voice in the Texas Legislature.

But then I see Debra Medina's name in the Texas Comptroller race and I am intrigued. I remember when she ran against Rick Perry in 2010. Although I supported Perry in that race, I liked Medina because she took some good stances on conservative issues.

So I decided to look her up on Google and check out her campaign and see what she has been up to since 2010.

Boy was I VERY disappointed in what I found.

One of the first things I saw when I searched for Medina is an article from Empower Texans that said in 2011 Medina supported pro-abortion Joe Straus (Joe Straus teamed up with Democrats to stab Republicans in the back in order to gain control of the Texas Speaker of the House position)

I did not believe it. It must have just been a rumor about Medina. How could a strong conservative ever support Joe Straus? I liked Medina so I could not believe it. I did a little more digging and to my dismay, I discovered that it is true that Debra Medina supported Joe Straus. Not only did she support Joe Straus, she wrote a lengthy letter praising Joe Straus and bashing the conservatives who were trying to get a real conservative to replace Straus.

My intent in writing about Medina supporting Joe Straus is not to try to attack Medina. At the same time, this is important information that people have a right to know about. I am dismayed and shocked and I would like to know how. How could she support someone like Joe Straus over real conservatives?
