GOP Leaders Call on Obama to Finally Say Fort Hood Shooting was Terrorist Attack NOT Workplace Violence, Grant Victims Purple Hearts

Top GOP senator backs effort to classify Fort Hood attack as terrorism
 

Sen. Lindsey Graham added his voice Tuesday to those calling for the Department of Defense to formally classify the Fort Hood shooting as terrorism, saying that classifying it "workplace violence" is "not fair" to the victims or their families. 

The Republican senator was responding to a push by victims for the U.S. government to change its description of the rampage that left 13 dead. Such a change would make those who sustained injuries eligible for certain benefits and awards, like the Purple Heart.

A group called the Coalition of Fort Hood Heroes recently released a 14-minute Web video making their case -- those behind the video called on viewers to engage Congress in pressuring the Obama administration. 

"Based upon what we already know, this episode fits squarely into the realm of an act of terrorism," Graham said in a written statement Tuesday. "I will be working with my colleagues in the Senate to challenge this characterization by the Pentagon and push for an accurate description of the tragic incident that took place at Fort Hood. It was terrorism and it should be described that way. 

"The difference in characterization between workplace violence and an act of terrorism is meaningful, in a variety of ways, to the victims and their families," he said. 

The Defense Department so far has resisted the push to designate it as terrorism, apparently reluctant to make any changes while suspect Nidal Hasan faces court martial. 

"The Department of Defense is committed to the integrity of the ongoing court martial proceedings of (Hasan) and for that reason will not at this time further characterize the incident that occurred at Fort Hood on Nov. 5, 2009," Pentagon spokesman George Little said. "Major Hassan has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder. As with all pending (court martial) matters, the accused is innocent until proven guilty." 

Little went on to say that "survivors of the incident at Fort Hood are eligible for the same medical benefits as any service member. The Department of Defense is committed to the highest care of those in our military family." 

But survivor Kimberly Munley, a former federal police officer who was shot three times at Fort Hood and who appeared in the latest Web video, said that's not true. She said her group has heard "nothing" in response to its appeals. 

"It's hard to fathom the fact that these are considered lone wolves or the act of workplace violence," she told Fox News. 

The reference to "workplace violence" refers to an earlier Defense Department letter that depicted the 2009 shooting that way.   

Those who claim it should be classified as terrorism point to the repeated contact Hasan had with radical U.S.-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was later killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen. 

In the Coalition of Fort Hood Heroes video, one of those injured in the attack said fellow victims "were fighting a domestic enemy" who wanted to prevent soldiers from deploying. "If that's not an act of war or an act of terrorism, then I don't know what is," he said.

Is New York Times Protecting Muslim Terrorists & Vilifying Christians, Conservatives?

If a Muslim/Islamist terrorist commits, or plans to commit, an act of terror, you can count on the New York Times, and other liberal media outlets, to seemingly cover-up the fact that the terrorist is a Muslim. On the other hand, these same media outlets have no problem bashing Christians and Conservatives, even trying to link Christianity and the Tea Party to terrorism. This is not a single incident. I have noticed this shocking pattern over years of reports coming from these media outlets like the New York Times and even some Texas Newspapers like the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Even President Obama’s Administration has tried to protect Muslims from getting a bad name when they commit acts of terror.

The New York Times does not like to let people know when a terrorist is a Muslim, but they had no problem labeling the lone, nutjob gunman, Anders Breivik, in the Norway massacre as a “Christian Extremist” even though he was not a Christian at all!

He actually denies being an actual Christian. Breivik stated in his Manifesto that "myself and many more like me do not necessarily have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God." He also stated in his Manifesto that "I'm not going to pretend I'm a very religious person as that would be a lie. I've always been very pragmatic and influenced by my secular surroundings and environment.”

The fact is, Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik's is not Christian but anti-Islam. His ideology is fuelled by a loathing of Muslims and 'Marxists', his writing spurred by conspiracy theories. He quotes all different people from different political spectrums. He even quotes Thomas Jefferson!

He was not a Christian but the New York Times was quick to label him as one on their front page before they even knew anything about him.

This is similar to when the New York Times Incorrectly Said that the Shooter in the US Rep Giffords Arizona Shooting, Jared Loughner, was Inspired by the Peaceful Republican Tea Party Movement, when in fact he was just a random, crazy nutjob, certainly not acting in the name of Jesus or the Conservative Republican Movement. He was actually found to be aligned more with the left-wing than the right-wing and he liked the Communist Manifesto.

Did Breivik or Loughner yell Jesus before they started shooting? I think not!

DHS Monitoring Blogs? David Bellow tells KETK NBC, “Good! They Might Learn Something!”

Texas GOP Vote blogger David Bellow was recently on KETK NBC in Tyler, TX to discuss the recent revelations that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been monitoring blogs and other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Drudge Report and Huffington Post.

Basically, the DHS recently came out and said they have been monitoring social sites and blogs. They call it a social networking media capability program. They are doing this so that they can collect information used in providing situational awareness and establishing a common operating picture. That is a whole bunch of words. What they really should say is that they just want to see what is going on and they want to see what people are saying/reporting on their blogs.

Some people told KETK NBC that this was Big Brother and that they did not like it. When Bellow was asked about it he said, “I think that is great. They might learn something.”

Bellow went on to explain that when he puts something on a blog, “I am putting it out for the public to see. I want them to see it. So I am not at all bothered that they are reading it.”

Bellow is a conservative Republican blogger and he posts stories sometimes that the mainstream media does not know about or does not want to cover. He said that, “if the Department of Homeland Security is looking at blogs, I think that is a great idea because I think they could learn a lot.”

For instance, “If the DHS could not have been so politically correct and if they read some of the information that Major Nidal Hasan put on forums, they would have known that he was a Muslim terrorist and the entire Fort Hood Massacre could have been avoided. Of course, the Obama Administration believes that those soldiers died as a part of workplace violence only and not a part of a terrorist attack by a Muslim who hates America.”

Also, “the Obama Administration could really learn a lot about how dangerous the Mexican border is by reading blogs. If they read some blog then they would know about the violence from drug cartels that is spilling over onto American soil. They would know about the tens of thousands who have been killed along the border and about all the shootings with American law enforcement and drug cartels. Then Obama would not be coming to Texas making jokes about how we will not be happy until there is a moat with alligators. No, we just want to be safe from the violent drug cartels.”

Violent Mexican Drug Cartels Target Texas School Children for Gangs, Drugs and Death

Bellow does say that there would be an issue with storing information or accessing private information, but what he puts on a blog is put there for the purpose of being read and there is no expectation of privacy for what you put on a public online blog. The real problem right now is the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that was just passed and signed into law that allows Americans on American soil to be detained secretly without due process and without even a trial. That is the bigger problem we are facing right now.

Nidal Hasan Not Charged for Murdering Baby in Fort Hood Shooting. Is the Army OK With Killing Babies?

On Nov. 5th Major Nidal Hasan allegedly (we know he did it) shot and killed 14 human beings at the Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. One of the murdered was an unborn baby.

Private Francheska Velez, one victims of the massacre in Fort Hood, was nine weeks pregnant when she was gunned down by Hasan.

This pregnant soldier's last words were, "My Baby! My Baby." She and her baby deserve justice.

So why has the Army only charged Major Nidal Hasan with 13 murders and not 14?

If the Army does not charge Nidal Hasan for killing the unborn baby, they are disregarding the laws that protect unborn children, and they are effectively saying that it is ok to murder someone else’s unborn baby.

The Texas Conservative Coalition (TCC) sent a letter to the Army signed by 31 Texas Legislators requesting that Nidal Hasan be charged with 14 murders to include the murder of the unborn baby.

The TCC letter cites the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), as amended by the 2004 Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which states that anyone who is committing an illegal act that causes the death of a child in utero shall be charged with a separate crime, just as if the violence had been committed against the child's mother. Furthermore, in 2003, the Texas Legislature enacted Senate Bill 319, which provides that a person who commits an offense that results in harm to, or the death of a fetus can be prosecuted in generally the same manner as an offense committed against an individual.

Texas State Representative Dan Flynn, a member of the Texas Conservative Coalition (TCC), has publically stated: "We were all shocked and appalled at the senseless tragedy that Major Hasan unleashed at Fort Hood. For justice to be fully won, the death of an innocent, unborn child must be reflected in the legal charges against Major Hasan."

State Representative Debbie Riddle has also publically called for the Army to charge Hasan for murdering the unborn child. "Each of the 14 souls that were stolen by this monster and his cowardly act of terrorism were innocent," Riddle said. "But none were more innocent than the unborn child whose life never even had a chance to fully begin."

One thing is clear. 14 lives were stolen on November 5^th, 2009. It is very troubling that the Army has only recognized 13 lives having been taken away.

I wouldn’t expect President Obama to step in and request that Hasan be charged with killing 14 human beings though given the fact that Obama is in support of killing unborn children even as they are being born and even after they have been born alive following a botched abortion.
