Eric Holder Declared in Criminal Contempt by US House. Arrested & Jailed soon?

The full United States House of Representatives has passed a vote declaring United States Attorney General Eric Holder to be in criminal contempt of Congress for not releasing documents in the fast and furious gun walking program that led to the death of federal border patrol agent Brian Terry. Holder will now be prosecuted and will have to face a trial. Will the head of the Department of Justice soon be arrested and face jail time?

Obamacare UPHELD as ObamaTAX - Obama LIED to AMERICA about NO Healthcare TAX

The Supreme Court has allowed Obamacare's individual mandate as a TAX

President Obama LIED to America when he told us that Obamacare was not a tax in any way.

He then turned around and argued to the United States Supreme Court that the individual mandate and penalty for not getting healthcare was a tax and therefore constitutional.

ObamaTAX via Obamacare ...... this might be JUST the right Slap in the face that America Needs to wake up and VOTE OUT OBAMA

WAKE UP AMERICA!

We are not only DROWNING in Debt, but not we have seen Obama impose the BIGGEST tax increase in AMERICAN HISTORY

Obama MUST BE DEFEATED in the November Election!!

Now more than ever we MUST also elect strong, non-compromising, conservatives to the US House and US Senate who will FIGHT TO REPEAL Obamacare!

We can help turning things around in the Senate by electing Ted Cruz to the US Senate!

Supreme Court UPHOLDS Obamacare Individual Mandate as a TAX

Now more than ever we MUST elect strong, non-compromising, conservatives to the US House and US Senate who will REPEAL Obamacare! Starting with electing Ted Cruz to the US Senate!

The Supreme Court has allowed Obamacare's individual mandate as a TAX

ObamaTAX via Obamacare ...... this might be JUST the right Slap in the face that America Needs to wake up and VOTE OUT OBAMA

Why Texas MUST Elect Ted Cruz US Senate (Video) July 31st, 2012 Runoff Election

Earlier this year, the big race I was involved in was to help get black, super conservative, Republican State Rep James White re-elected after White was attacked by Speaker Joe Straus via redistricting. White ended up beating a Straus Chairman, Mike "Tuffy" Hamilton.

Now my focus has shifted to the US Senate race. This race is very important. It is a runoff election between David Dewhurst and Ted Cruz. The Runoff Election Day is July 31st, 2012.

Texas MUST elect Ted Cruz for US Senate July 31st!

Let me first say that I do not hate David Dewhurst or think he is a liberal or a bad guy. I hope that no David Dewhurst supporters take this article the wrong way. There are two men in the race and we have to pick one of them. I have picked Ted Cruz. I do not have anything against any supporters of David Dewhurst. We are on the same side trying to fight Obama and the liberals. We just disagree about who the best person for the job will be. I really do believe with all my heart that Ted Cruz is the better of the two for the US Senate. Not only do I believe that Ted Cruz is better, I believe that Ted Cruz is a person that AMERICA NEEDS.

We Need a Conservative Fighter, Especially after the Supreme Court just upheld Obamacare as an ObamaTAX

America is at a critical crossroads. The federal government is out of control. Too many politicians believe that compromise is the way to solve problems. Well, I believe that compromising our conservative values is what has allowed us to end up in the position we are in now.

We do not need to compromise. We need to draw a line in the sand and say that we WILL cut spending, we WILL stop Obamacare, we WILL stop attacks on Christianity, we WILL defend states rights. We not only need someone who will stand strong, we also need someone who can articulate and defend our conservative values and explain why we believe what we believe. Now that everything goes to the Supreme Court, it is especially important that we elect leaders who can effectively argue for conservative values all the way up to the Supreme Court.

Ted Cruz is that man. Ted Cruz is a man who stands for conservative values and does not compromise. He can, and has fought for conservative values all the way up to the Supreme Court and WON!

I do believe that David Dewhurst has conservative values, but I also believe that David Dewhurst has been in office a long time and has worked himself up to a position as LT Governor where he has had to work with both sides and sometimes compromise in order to get things done. Dewhurst has had to play nice with both sides on many occasions. For instance, when Dewhurst has decided who his committee chairmen will be, he typically has given the positions to both liberal Democrats and Republicans instead of just trying to put all conservatives into the chairmen positions. Also, when Dewhurst found out that the federal government was threatening to shut down air traffic if we passed the TSA anti-groping bill, Dewhurst campaigned against the TSA bill instead of standing up for the bill and telling the feds to bring it on. Well, nothing against Dewhurst or his conservative values because I do believe he is conservative and a good guy, but I do not want to chance sending someone up to Washington who might compromise, back down, or play the political system as the only way to get things done.

I want to send a new, fresh face to Washington who will not go along with the other side. I want someone as our new US Senator who is going to draw the line in the sand and fight for conservative values with no compromise. America NEEDS someone like this! We will not save America from the destructive path it is heading down unless we drastically change the people in office and elect new fresh faces who have nothing to lose, who will rally enthusiastic conservatives behind him, and who will fight for conservative values.

The following youtube video is a speech I recorded of Ted Cruz speaking in Beaumont, TX.
Click this link to watch video if video player does not display at the bottom of this article http://youtu.be/v58QsGzMQTs

Please watch this video and pass this message along!

In this video, Cruz goes over his rock solid record of arguing for conservative values in front of the United States Supreme Court and WINNING important cases involving everything from Gun Rights to States Rights to keeping the Ten Commandments Monument at the Texas State Capitol building!

Ted Cruz has been endorsed by ALL top conservative leaders and conservative groups including Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Senator Rand Paul, Phyllis Schlafly, Glenn Beck, Senator Rick Santorum, David Barton, Sean Hannity, Cathie Adams (Eagle Forum), Congressman Ron Paul, George P. Bush, Peggy Venable (Taxpayer Advocate), Senator Pat Toomey, Former U.S. Attorney General Ed Meese, Mark Levin, as well as numerous other Conservatives.

We need a strong, outspoken, articulate leader like Ted Cruz in the United States Senate.

Vote Ted Cruz for US Senate July 31st, 2012 Texas Republican Primary Runoff Election

Watch Out Texas: Supreme Court Strikes Down Corporate Campaign Spending Limits - TX Law Changes? Good for Tom Delay?

Will Texas Have to Change Its Campaign Spending Law? Will Tom Delay have his Conviction Overturned?

According to the AP, the Supreme Court today has (again) ruled that corporations have the right to spend freely to advocate for or against candidates for state and local offices.

The justices struck down a Montana law limiting corporate campaign spending, but this case will have a ripple effect on all other states.

Texas is a state that does not allow corporations to spend money in Texas state and local election.

In fact, former Majority Leader in the United States House of Representatives, Tom Delay, did not even give corporate money to Texas elections but he was prosecuted by a liberal from Austin simply because he give money to the RNC which possibly freed up RNC money to be given to Texas elections. Based on that, this liberal prosecutor said that Tom Delay broke Texas law by giving corporate money to Texas elections.

SOOO, not that the Supreme Court has ruled that it is unconstitutional to limit corporate spending in state and local elections, will Texas have to change its laws to allow corporate spending? If not they might set themselves up for a losing battle in the Supreme Court.

Also, will this ruling have any effect on appeals that Tom Delay has made in a case where he was prosecuted for something that the Supreme Court has said is constitutionally protected?

Supreme Court UPHOLDS Key AZ Immigration Law - Good for Texas Voter ID Law Supreme Court Case!

The United States Supreme Court struck down some parts of the Arizona Immigration Law, but the Supreme Court UPHELD a key provision (and very controversial part) of the AZ Immigration Law.

According to the Washington Post, The Supreme Court has upheld the provision in the AZ law requiring police to check the status of someone they suspect is not in the United States legally. Anyone in AZ must now "Show Me Your Papers" when asked by AZ law enforcement.

I believe that this ruling gives us a glimpse of how the Supreme Court will rule when they hear the Voter ID Law cases.

Several states (including Texas) have passed laws requiring people to show Identification when they vote. You have to show ID for EVERYTHING so why not require ID to be shown at the voting booth? Dead People are voting, non-citizens are voting, people are registering to vote multiple times using fake names. We have to make sure our elections stay free and fair. It is not unreasonable to be able to make sure people are who they say they are when they vote.

Attorney General Eric Holder has a problem with Voter ID laws. Sure, the Supreme Court has already upheld voter ID laws. Sure Eric Holder requires ID to be shown when entering a building to see Eric Holder Speak, but NO he says to Texas and South Carolina when we want ID to be shown when people vote.

I already think the Supreme Court will side with Texas on the Voter ID laws and because we have Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott fighting for us, but now I am really sure that the Court will allow Texas to require ID when voting after the Supreme Court has allowed AZ to check the citizenship status (even though Eric Holder said that is something that only the Federal Government can do). I do not believe in discrimination and I do not believe this AZ law will be used to discriminate. The police will not be able to stop someone if they think the person is here illegally. The police will be able to ask for identification and check for citizenship status ONLY if the person has already been stopped of detained for breaking the law.

The bottom line is, these laws are good. It is common sense that our elections should be secure and people should show ID when they vote, and also, if the police stop someone who is suspected of breaking the law, the police should be able to verify who the person is, including if they are in the country legally.

Don't Forget TONIGHT 8PM Cruz VS. Dewhurst US Senate Debate

It is Debate Night in Texas! (Friday June 22nd, 2012) Watch Ted Cruz debate David Dewhurst tonight at 8:00 PM Central! Should be a good show.

The debate will live video stream online here: http://bit.ly/PCarDQ. It will also be broadcast on other stations across Texas! Check your local listing here: http://bit.ly/LIzgiL
As you know, I (and just about all major conservative organizations and individuals) am supporting Ted Cruz for US Senator from Texas.
I believe that Ted Cruz is the better of the two.
The big thing that drew me to Cruz is the fact that he has stood for conservative values in the Supreme Court and has won! Everything seems to end up in the Supreme Court these days and it is very important, not just to have a conservative, but a conservative who can articulate and defend our conservative values all the way to the Supreme Court.

MSN News Misspells Eric Holder on Frontpage (Eric Holden?) see picture here

Everyone wanted to be first to post up the story about Eric Holder being held in contempt by the House Oversight Committee. I did too. I got my story up within seconds of the vote passing. See my Holder Contempt story here

Mistakes happen in a rush. I make them all the time.

Major news outlets should probably have better proof readers than me though (I don't have any).

MSN posted the Holder Contempt Story on their front page.

The problem is.....

Who is Eric Holden?

haha

Vote PASSES, Eric Holder in CONTEMPT - Obama Executive Privilege & "Evolving Truth" No Good in Fast and Furious - Dems Want Gun Control

House Oversight Committee Has Just Passed a Resolution 23 to 17 Holding Attorney General Eric Holder in Contempt for not releasing fast and furious documents.
The Contempt Charge now goes to the entire House for a vote on holding Holder in Contempt before it is sent to prosecution.
The committee even passed an amendment with many reasons why Obama's executive privilege is not valid

The Committee hearing was very interesting. The Democrats, like Reps Towns and Rep Norton, tried to say that the Committee should give more time to Eric Holder because Holder is willing to work with the committee to release some documents.

The Committee Chairman, Rep Issa, made clear that the Committee had given plenty of time to Holder and has been very lenient and even had staff stay up all night waiting for the documents. Issa said that no one is above the law.

The Committee meeting was very long and there were many arguments back and forth. Below are some of the highlights from the meeting:

Congressman Chaffets quotes President Obama from when Obama first got into office about transparency. Chaffets quoted Obama from when Obama said that his administration would be completely transparent and would allow freedom of information requests even when the information requested might be embarrassing.

Chaffets said we have thousands of guns given to drug cartels. We have hundreds of people dead across the border. We have a US Border Patrol Agent dead. This is about the Department of Justice and Justice in the United States

Rep Mack said that if the Obama Administration and the Justice Department were so willing to get this info out then there would not have been a last minute letter from President Obama to claim executive privilege to hide the documents.

Rep Kucinich said that now that Obama has claim executive privilege then the committee should not go forward with contempt.

Chairman Issa said that Kucinich did and probably everyone on his side of the isle probably voted to hold Harriet Miers in contempt even though Bush had used executive privilege.

Rep Walberg said that we owe it to dead border agent Brian Terry to find out the truth of what happened. He said it does not give him pleasure to have a contempt vote but it has to be done. He said that Obama's evolving truth is not good enough. He said the Justice Department said they would give the committee a fair compilation but then Eric Holder would be in control of what documents should or should not go into that compilation.

Rep Lankford said that If the Department of Justice asked for documents, no US Attorney would allow 7 months to pass before getting the documents. No US Attorney would allow someone to decide which documents get turned over to the DOJ and they would not allow someone to tell them to that instead of getting documents they will instead get an explanation of the documents. Congress was given false statements from the DOJ. One month the DOJ tells Congress that they did not allow guns to go into Mexico and that was found to be untrue. This same DOJ is supposed to be investigating security leaks. It is important for Congress to find out the facts of what happened.

Rep Buerkle said that Brian Terry has been dead for over 500 days now and still no one has been held responsible. She said that this committee is responsible for finding the truth. Holder has not provided requested documents and he has been given time and has dodged questions. The lack of transparency regarding the death of a federal agent is sickening and the last minute effort to use executive privilege is sickening. What is being hidden? Are there more people dead that we don't know of?

Rep Connolly talked about Kangaroo courts and said we need more gun control and an assault rifle ban instead of a contempt vote.

Rep Meehan said this is not about Kangaroos, this is about a dead border patrol agent. He said Congress was lied to by the DOJ and could not get answers from the DOJ. There is a series of questions that need to be answered and there was knowledge of this program in the highest levels.

Rep Jordan said the committee just wants the information. These documents were requested 8 months ago and it was not until today did the President try to use executive privilege. Rep Jordan said that executive privilege only applies to communication with the President. Rep Jordan said that Eric Holder sat in front of the committee and said there was never any communication with President Obama about this.

Rep Gowdy did a passionate emotional speech about the high level officials in the DOJ knowing about this gun walking program before Brian Terry got killed and how the committee was lied to by the DOJ about the program while at the same time the DOJ was boasting the program in Mexico. Gowdy said he does not have answers to tell his constituents when they ask him how this agent was killed and who authorized this program. He compared Senator Obama's stance on executive privilege to President Obama's stance on executive privilege. He went on to say that if Obama did not know about this program then what is he doing trying to use executive privilege to protect the information?

Rep Ross said that the American public expects accountability. He said that people need to stop blaming the Bush Administration for the current administration's mistakes and failures to release documents. He said that any gun programs (like operation wide receiver) under Bush did not result in any deaths and were not known by Bush. When Bush found out he ended the program. This is very different than Fast and Furious. Rep Gowdy followed with more passionate speech about how people need to stop blaming Bush for everything and blaming Bush does not have anything to do with Eric Holder currently not releasing documents.

Rep Speier said that gun walking still exists because anyone in America can buy guns like ak 47's that they don't need.

Before the final vote to approve a contempt resolution against Holder, the committee passed an amendment with many reasons why Obama's executive privilege is not valid. Some of the reasons include the fact that the time Obama should have claimed executive privilege was 8 months ago when Eric Holder was first called to testify, and also the fact that the president has not even claimed executive privilege and instead they have heard it from the DOJ who is not authorized to invoke the privilege.

During the hearing, the Brian Terry family sent a statement to the committee saying that Eric Holder and Obama are trying to prevent the truth from coming out about why their son was killed by Mexican drug cartel members who was allowed to have a gun by the Fast and Furious gun walking program.

Woman Demands Apology from Texas Tribune over Jasper Police Chief Hot Check Bad Facts

I do not believe that Morgan from the Texas Tribune knew that Pearson was lying to her about the hot check info, but this certainly is another example of the lies and deception coming from fired Police Chief Rodney Pearson (I have found today out that Morgan Smith has reached out to Julie and has asked Julie for more info to correct what she says Pearson is lying about)

On a side note, I hear from Not on the Payroll blog that the city is looking to pay Pearson to go away. I wrote a story a few weeks ago saying that Pearson was only pulling the race card because he knew he would be fired and wanted to try to get some cash in a settlement after he got fired....

Letter from Julie Fish regarding Chief Pearson accusation in Texas Tribune Story that she wrote Hot Check even though Public Record and arrest shows Pearson wrote check:
My name is Julie Fish and I am Rodney Pearson's first wife and I just read an article as follows from the texastribune.org With Cade Bersen hired by Rodney Pearson for his termination as Chief of Police that has been ongoing for months...

"Cade Bernsen, the former police chief’s attorney, said the rankings were purposely devised to discredit Pearson, who has 22 years of experience as a DPS trooper, and had never previously been used to evaluate candidates. The check, he said, was written by Pearson’s wife at the time, and was for less than $20."
http://www.texastribune.org/texas-politics/texas-political-news/black-leaders-jasper-say-racial-tension-escalating/

In Jasper, Black Leaders Say Tensions Escalating After Chief's Dismissal, by Morgan Smith
www.texastribune.org
Jasper continues to deal with fallout from the dismissal of its first black police chief. Black community leaders in the East Texas town say racial tensions are at "an all-time high.

I Julie Fish, did not write this hot check that was less than $20 dollars that Rodney himself wrote and was arrested in Nolan County Texas "Sweetwater Texas" and is now claiming that I wrote after Rodney was terminated...I am so very appalled that the texastribune.org and The Bernson attorney for the former Chief of Police would allow such an out right lie to defame me. This is considered libel and I want a public apology due to this out right lie that Rodney has told his attorney and that the texastribune.org would print publicly. Again, Rodney was arrested in Sweetwater Texas on Hot checks or check that he was repeatedly told to take care of that he himself wrote. He was arrested at our home at the time and booked and photographed and fingerprinted at at the Nolan County Court house and then he bonded out...That check was written by Rodney Pearson himself period...Anyone that is arrested it then becomes public record...

Then once he was transferred to Jasper he continued to have the same repetitive behavior with hot checks that he left in Nolan county from where he was transferred to Jasper Texas. It is also my understanding he was suspended with no pay for a certain amount of days for theft of service by checks in Jasper Texas as well which is also public record....It is not my fault that Rodney Pearson was suspended with no pay for not taking care of his responsibilities...`

No governing body of court of law or law enforcement agency would allow someone to be arrested and booked on a hot check that someone else wrote. The texastribune.org and the Berson's attorney's are wrong for allowing this to be printed and published for blaming and defaming my name for this particular check that Rodney himself wrote...The truth shall set you free....

I want a retraction of the truth printed as I will not set back and let someone that has been terminated from a position that is in no way ever been or even remotely connected to me. The is a libel charge and I am a strong woman and I will stand up for what is right when it comes to my name...

I guess in today's world it has become so easy to blame someone else for your own problems that was brought on from you yourself when all a person has to do is be honest... Honesty to me is the ONLY policy....Just to let the town of Jasper Texas Know that I am in no way perfect and no one is, but to print an out right lie that defames my name and can be proven by the open records right can prove my very statement that I am openly speaking out about...PERIOD..

I do my homework and will continue until this stops and will do what it takes to stop this libel and vicious way to make someone else look like that it is the people of Jasper, Texas fault and now me, his first wife that lives in another state... What is wrong with people...This has nothing to do with race...Well, I maybe I am wrong, I am white and being accused of something that I did not do, so maybe he texastribune.org would like to interview me...I have lots of knowledge...

Texas Dad Kills Man Caught Molesting Child

A dad in Texas found his daughter getting molested by a man. There will not be a trial or jury because the dad killed the man while trying to protect his daughter. No charges are expected to be filed. If the man who was killed is anything but white I am sure we will be hearing from some crazy race baiters who will claim the man was killed because of racism instead of him molesting a little girl. nothing surprises me nowadays....

Texas Lawmaker Wants to Abolish Texas Property Taxes

Now this is what I am talking about... NO PROPERTY TAXES!

We will NEVER own our own land so long as we have property tax. We will always just be renting our land and home from the government. Wil will always be slaves to the government just to get the right to have land.

Propert tax is the worst tax of all. Yes, Texas whould have to compensate somewhere else, but compensating somewhere else is better than keeping us enslaved and never owning property under a property tax.

Same-Sex Ceremony on Military Base - So Much for State and Federal Law - Experiment on Soldiers/Military Continues

A gay marriage ceremony between a lesbian couple in the base chapel at Fort Polk in Louisiana has created a storm of controversy among conservative religious leaders and a growing number of lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

“The liberal social experiment with our military continues,” Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) told Fox News Radio. “A same-sex marriage-like ceremony should not have occurred at Fort Polk, especially since the people of Louisiana have made it abundantly clear that our state does not recognize same-sex marriages or civil unions.”.........

DES MOINES — A prominent leader in the Iowa/Nebraska branch of the NAACP — the country’s oldest civil rights group — announced today that he is resigning as branch president and a national board member in the wake of the national organization’s decision to endorse gay marriage between people of the same gender.

Joe Straus Tricks at TX GOP Convention – Straus REJECTED from National Delegate List

Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus had to play some dirty tricks at the State Convention in order to keep from being humiliated from the silent walkout that was planned against him. He wrongly used fellow State Reps as Pawns and Shields. Joe Straus did not leave the Convention without humiliation though because Straus was rejected from being a National Delegate! Sadly, Texas GOP leaders are bashing the conservatives who removed Straus (see below)

Straus Dirty Trick – Used State Reps as Pawns at Texas GOP Convention

Joe Straus is not a popular guy among conservative Republicans in Texas. At the last convention he was loudly booed when he was introduced and came on the stage. This year the opposition to Straus wanted to be more respectful so they planned to just get up and walk out when Straus was introduced. The 2012 Convention Schedule that was VOTED ON had Joe Straus coming on to the stage to speak before the rest of the Texas State Representatives all came on the stage. Joe Straus and his buddies in the Texas GOP did not want Straus to be embarrassed so they decided to change the schedule and use the State Reps from Texas as pawns and shields. Instead of Straus coming out and speaking first, the schedule was changed last second to have the State Reps come out first and stand behind Joe Straus as Straus gave a speech. This was downright dirty to use my State Rep as part of his trick. My State Rep, and all the State Reps, had to walk out to the Stage while a pro Joe Straus political video was playing. If someone did want to boo the Joe Straus Video they would look like they were booing the State Reps walking out. These State Reps were treated like doormats. They did not get their introduction and were really just the backdrop for Straus. Once all of the State Reps were on the stage and the video ended, there was no introduction for Straus. Straus just stepped up and started talking with all the State Reps standing behind him to protect him from any possible backlash. Even with the change in schedule and the trick of using the Texas State Reps as Pawns, there was still a group of well over 100 who realized what was going on and went into the hallways to start chanting OUST STRAUS and NO STRAUS. watch video here

Daniel Greer also wrote about this tactless move on his AgendaWise website here

Speaker Joe Straus removed from National Delegate List

The At-Large National Delegates are nominated by the Permanent Nominations Committee at the State Convention. In order to allow room for regular republicans to be delegates to the National Convention, the only elected officials who get preferential treatment are the Statewide elected officials. People who are actually elected by the entire state of Texas (Governor, Attorney General, etc.)

This year, State Republican Executive Committeeman Eric Opiela was on the Permanent Nominations Committee. Eric tried to include Joe Straus into the list of Statewide Elected officials who get to be National Delegates.

Joe Straus is NOT a statewide elected official. Joe Straus IS NOT elected by the people of Texas and he probably WOULD NEVER BE. Joe Straus is only elected by the people of his San Antonio House District. He is not more a statewide elected official than my State Rep or any of the other 150 State Representatives. Joe Straus is given the title of Speaker and is not elected in a statewide vote to be Speaker.

One brave woman on the Nominations Committee, Kathy Haigler, made a motion to remove Joe Straus from the list of Statewide Elected officials because Joe Straus is not a Statewide Elected Official and if you opened the door for State Reps to get preferential treatment then there would not be any room on the national delegate list for regular Republicans to be delegates. It was also brought up that the delegates at the State Convention would likely reject Joe Straus when the Nominations Committee presented the report to the Convention Delegates. Other members of the Nominations Committee, including Bill Eastland, also openly supported Haigler’s motion.

It was obvious that this was another one of the Joe Straus bag of tricks. It was planned beforehand to try to get Joe Straus on the list of National Delegates as a Statewide office holder. Eric Opiela made his rounds and tried to get people to vote for Joe Straus, but the majority of the members on the Nominations Committee voted against Joe Straus and his name was removed from the National Delegate List. The people on the Nominations Committee are chosen to be on the committee by the delegates at the convention.

TX GOP Leaders are Attacking Kathy Haigler for Doing the Right Thing!

Sadly, Kathy Haigler is being attacked for doing the right thing and removing Straus from the list of statewide elected officials who get to be on the list of national delegates.

According to an article by Donna Garner on Voices Empower, on Monday, Michael Bergsma (who nominated Haigler), sent out an email accusing her of ambushing him, hurting him personally, hurting the CD27 Caucus, and hurting the State Republican Party. He said he has “egg on his face” and now suffers from reduced credibility.  He attacked Haigler for striking Straus from the national delegate list and repeatedly stated his embarrassment.  Bergsma said Haigler cannot be trusted and will never be given a position of trust again.

An hour later, SREC Committeewoman Becky Berger piggy-backed on Bergsma’s e-mail, expressing the same sentiment.

SREC Committeeman Bob Jones also jumped on the bandwagon in a reply to the distribution list.

Lee Brandon, a CD27 state delegate, told Haigler she will forever wear a scarlet letter of betrayal.

So let me get this right…. Joe Straus is elected by Democrats and even campaigns for Democrats against Republicans, and it is Haigler who is the bad guy and not Straus? Haigler did the right thing. Joe Straus is not a statewide elected official and he should not get preferential treatment over other republicans to be a delegate. Straus would not even have been voted by the delegates of the convention to be a delegate anyways and he certainly does not represent the conservative Republicans in Texas. Kathy Haigler did the right thing.

Shame on these Republican leaders for attacking Haigler.

I guess I am not surprised though. Becky Berger is a nice lady and I get along with her. She is dead wrong sometimes though and this is one of those issues. I was also shocked at some of her actions earlier this year. I send out my articles, like this article, via email. I actually got an email from Becky earlier this year asking me to not send any emails to ANY Republicans in her district. I was shocked! Not only does that go against the First Amendment, but it also goes against transparency and, even worse, she is making the decision about what emails people in her district should or should not get! It is up to the individual Republicans in her district to make the decision of what emails they want to get. She does not speak for them and cannot make their decisions for them. I never got one complaint from anyone in her district and if any of them want to not get emails from me they just have to click a button at the bottom of my email to get off of my list.

Joe Straus is NOT Conservative. 2011 Texas Legislature Passed Conservative Bills IN SPITE of Straus

Joe Straus is not stupid. He is a politician and a weak leader who will side with whatever will not stir up too much controversy among the State Reps. In 2010, the people of Texas overwhelmingly elected conservative Republicans to the State House. Part of the reason so many new conservative State Reps were elected was in an effort to Oust Straus. The 2011 session of the Texas Legislature had a super majority of Republicans. Joe Straus knew that he would not be able to stop some of the big pro life and voter id bills from getting passed. This is why some good legislation was passed out of the 2011 State Legislature. It had nothing to do with Joe Straus. For all we know, Joe Straus is not even pro-life! When Straus was a regular State Rep he certainly did not vote pro life and Straus has not come out and said he has changed to pro-life. All Joe Straus did was not stand in the way of the pro-life bills in the Texas House. He did this because he knew it would be the nail in his coffin if he tried to get in the way.

Democrat Rep. Castro had this to say to the Texas Tribune just this past weekend, “Joe, if it were up to him, I think would have a more moderate Texas,” he said. “But he’s presiding over a Republican Party that is very extreme today, and if he’s going to stay Speaker, he’s going to have to curry favor with them.”

I guess we should be thankful to Straus because Straus could have tried to stand in the way. Thanking him for not standing in the way of pro-life bills does not mean that Straus was the reason or even wanted these conservative bills to pass. Truth be told, besides the big issues that we wanted to get passed, Straus actually did hurt many of the low key conservative bills that were presented by the new, conservative State Representatives.

Joe Straus is Hurting and Facing Many Challenges. Bryan Hughes is Running for Speaker

Joe Straus is hurting. His favorability ratings are very low statewide. People just do not like him. The problem is that the people of Texas do not get to elect him. He is only elected by his district in San Antonio and he is given the Speaker of the House position by fellow State Representatives. If the people of Texas had the choice to determine who the speaker is it is very likely that he would not be speaker for very long as there would be a massive grassroots effort to elect someone else. Joe Straus even had a challenger in his own district which is something that does not happen to the Speaker of the House.

So why is he still Speaker if people do not like him? Joe Straus was a left leaning Republican. He even voted against pro-life bills and got money from Planned Parenthood. He first got in, not by a vote of Republicans but because Joe Straus teamed up with the DEMOCRATS and got all of the Democrats to vote for him. Joe Straus was elected by the Democrats to be Speaker. Once he became Speaker it becomes very difficult to get everyone to try to beat a sitting Speaker. State Reps know that if they try to oppose Joe Straus they can be greatly punished because of the power that the Speaker has. They could be hurt in Redistricting (Joe Straus hurt good conservatives in redistricting last year) and they would be given bad committees where they will not be able to do anything. Most of Joe Straus’ Committee Chairmen have failing conservative ratings so we know which direction Joe Straus leans.

Many of the attacks Joe Straus made against conservative State Reps failed thankfully. One such attack was when Joe Straus tried to get rid of super conservative James White by putting him in a district with a Straus Chairman. White voted against Straus for Speaker of the House. Thankfully, Super Conservative James White WON and defeated his Straus Chairmen opponent Mike Hamilton (who had some ethics problems revealed during the race) . In fact, many of Chairmen and Leaders for Joe Straus were defeated! Once again, the grassroots Republicans are speaking but Straus does not and will not care.

Even under the threat of getting hurt by Straus, one State Representative Bryan Hughes has stood up to face the uphill battle for the Speaker of the House against Joe Straus. Putting Pressure on Joe Straus all the time will help get the word out about Joe Straus, and also it will push Straus into a corner where he has to try to at least act conservative in order to fend off the attacks against him from conservatives. Eventually Straus will be beaten and we have to keep up the pressure.

Ron Paul Supporters at Texas GOP Convention Acted Respectfully, Were Intelligent and Not Crazy

Sometimes a few crazy people can make an entire group look bad. Maybe that is what has happened with Ron Paul supporters. We see some crazy Ron Paul people on the news and we paint the entire group as being crazy. It is like these bad cops who think they are above the law and they break the law and do things like and beat people up on video. That is why some people hate cops when, in fact, most cops are doing a great job and risking their lives for us. The problem is that the few bad cops you see on TV unfairly make all cops look bad.

At the 2012 Texas State Republican Convention this past weekend in Fort Worth, TX, I got a chance to meet a group of Ron Paul supporters

I am friends with many Ron Paul supports but I am not part of any Ron Paul groups so I did not know what to expect. I had seen internet articles telling people to watch out for Ron Paul people trying to take over conventions so I was interested to see what would happen.

The group that I got to meet did not have signs to stage a protest and they did not walk around asking people to legalize marijuana. In fact, you probably would have never known that they were even Ron Paul supporters. They came off as just very passionate conservatives. You might have known them for years and you might have thought they were probably just members of the tea party. There are many young people in the Ron Paul groups but there are also a surprising number of older people and minorities too. They are a very diverse group.

I had great conversations with a Ron Paul group about the Federal Reserve and how printing more money with nothing to back it is destroying our economy by devaluating the dollar and not allowing the market to fix itself. Being in the military myself, I don’t entirely agree with some of Ron Paul’s war policy, but I had a great conversation about war policies and there are actually many things that I do agree with Ron Paul on. The President must not be allowed to start a war without getting congress to approve it. There are checks and balances that must be followed. We are sending money to help terrorist countries. It is especially frustrating now that President Obama is using the military as pawns and taking out bad governments, like Egypt, just to hand the government over to the Muslim Brotherhood.

One gentleman that I talked to has run Christian charities and one of the reasons he stands with Ron Paul is because the government is slowly taking away our religious liberty. As the head of a Christian charity, he saw firsthand how the rights of Christians to freely practice and express their religious beliefs were being taken away. As a Christian, I know that he is right and this must be stopped.

These people were not crazy. In fact, I agreed with most of what these Ron Paul supporters believe, as most conservatives probably do. No, I don’t agree with everything and I have no problem expressing where I do not agree. No one agrees with each other 100% of the time, but the many issues that I do agree with Ron Paul on, Ron Paul is 100% dead on right.

I even got a chance to explain to these Ron Paul supporters why I was not in favor of Texas being proportional. Earlier this year, the RNC forced Texas to be proportional. Texas had always been winner take all by congressional district. This is what the Republican in Texas voted to have because it gives Texas more of a say in the Presidential race and makes us more relevant (we have been completely irrelevant in recent Republican Presidential races unfortunately because the race is over before we even vote!) Well, the RNC comes along and tells us we have to be proportional. I stood up the RNC and told them that they should not bully us and advocated that we stay winner take all by congressional district, which is what we already were before the Republican National Committee forced us to change. I was standing for Texas and what the grassroots in Texas wanted. I was standing for Texas to have a bigger voice instead of being pushed around. Well, I had some Ron Paul supporters upset with me because they thought that the reason I did not want to be proportional was so that I could keep Ron Paul from getting delegates under a proportional system. That is NOT the reason I did not want to be proportional. Hurting or helping Ron Paul was not even a factor in why I was saying NO to the RNC’s proportional system. In fact, I was able to explain that if Texas had gone back to winner take all by congressional district back when there were still four candidates in the race, it was very likely that Romney would not have won Texas and would not have received many of our delegates. This would possibly have forced a brokered convention which would have actually benefited the Ron Paul supporters. So we had a good conversation about that little misunderstanding and cleared some things up.

Ron Paul Supporters were elected to be National Delegates at Texas GOP Convention

Did these Ron Paul supporters try to get fellow Ron Paul supporters elected as national delegates? Sure they did. But who didn’t? The establishment passed out papers telling their people to vote for their establishment candidates. Just about every county Republican group nominated a candidate from their county who they know and are friends with. You had entire counties voting for the candidate from their county vs. candidates from other counties. Every group at the convention tried to put up a candidate to try to be elected to something, so why can’t the Ron Paul supporters do that to? They have every right to put up someone from their group to run.

The Ron Paul supporters I got a chance to meet this past weekend were respectful of the process and did not try to take over anything. They nominated fellow Ron Paul supporters and these nominees then got to stand in front of the entire group of Republicans and explain what they believe and explain why people should vote for them. Some of the Ron Paul supporters got elected by the group and some didn’t.

These Ron Paul supporters are not stupid either. From what I got to hear from them, they understand that Romney probably already has the nomination. They understand that the chance of a brokered convention is slim to none unless there is a change of the current rules of how presidential delegates can vote. They understand all that and they are not unrealistic. They were more focused on getting people involved in the process who will go to the national convention and stand for less government and stand for the constitution. They know that, even though they might not prevail, you cannot give up and you still have to speak up and let your beliefs be heard. There is no chance of America ever going back to follow the Constitution if everyone just accepts that the Constitution is gone and stops speaking up about it. They are simply not giving up.

To Defeat Obama, the Republican Party MUST Embrace Ron Paul Supporters

Also, If Romney is Smart, he will Appoint Ron Paul to his Cabinet, Maybe as Head of the Treasury

Whether you agree with Ron Paul supporters or not, the Republican Party is going to need all hands on deck if we are going to defeat Obama. We will especially need Ron Paul supporters. Obama has the upper hand when it comes to young votes. Ron Paul groups are filled with young voters. Ron Paul groups are also filled with a ton of passion and dedication. By casting out these groups, not only are we losing those young voters, but we are also losing out on the passion and dedication they bring to the table.

The Republican Party must embrace Ron Paul Supporters. It was said to me this weekend that, maybe the reason some of the Ron Paul supporters act a little bit crazy is due to the fact that acting crazy is the only way they can be heard. They don’t act crazy because they are crazy. They act crazy as a way to be heard because they have been rejected from the Republican Party and are having to fend for themselves and have to create their own unconventional platforms to speak from to get their message out.

Maybe if Ron Paul supporters were embraced by the Republican Party, we could all sit down together and have a conversation about how we can work together to promote the things that we agree on, like more states rights, less federal government, following the constitution, etc. We can work together to defeat Obama. The establishment in Republican Party might not agree on everything that Ron Paul supporters believe, but there is probably agreement on at least 80% of the issues. The Republican Party could greatly benefit from Ron Paul supports in order to accomplish the many things that both sides agree on. WE especially need Ron Paul supports is we are going to defeat Obama.

After this weekend, I have a new respect for and understanding of Ron Paul supporters and I fully believe that the Republican Party should embrace them and work with them instead of trying to ignore them. We need them. We might not all agree 100% on everything, but overall, Ron Paul  is GOOD for the conservative cause and his supporters can help the Republican Party and help defeat Obama.

I am sure my little brother in high school will love me for writing this article. He is a big Ron Paul fan. I am not sure how he became one or how he even got to know anything about Ron Paul, but it happened. It is happening with youth all across America. It is something that we cannot ignore and we could greatly benefit from if we embrace the youth, passion and of these Ron Paul supporters.

Sincerely,
David Bellow

Jasper, TX Elects Black State Rep. James White - The city is NOT racist as the Media says

I have written numerous articles about how Jasper, TX Police Chief Rodney Pearson is not a good guy. I just wrote an article today about how this Jasper, TX Police Chief was finally fired.

I am sure it will not be long before all the liberal media and civil rights groups come out of the woodworks to cry racism. They will pull the race card and say that Rodney Pearson was fired because he was black. They will ignore the facts that show that Rodney Pearson was fired because he was just not a good police chief who should not have been hired in the first place. They will say the community of Jasper is filled with racists.

NOT SO FAST!

The liberal media will ignore that Jasper, TX and Jasper County just voted to elect James White (who is black) to be their State Representative.

Wait a second! I thought Jasper was racist and did not like black people in office? Nope, that is just what the media wants you to think. They fired Pearson because Pearson was not the best qualified and did a bad job. On the other hand, the just HIRED (elected) James White. They don't care that State Rep. James White is a black man. They only cared that James White was the BEST man for the job with STELLAR conservative values and qualifications.

Sure, you can find racists of all colors in all cities in America. As a community though, Jasper is not a racist city and they do and have elected black people to lead them.

Black Jasper, TX Police Chief Rodney Pearson FIRED - Race Card will be Played

Weeks ago I wrote an article about how Police Chief Rodney Pearson knew that he was going to be fired soon so he filed a last minute discrimination complaint to try to bully the Jasper, TX city council into being too scared to fire him even though the city has many very valid reasons to fire him.

Pearson's Bully Tactics DID NOT work!

The City FIRED him yesterday with a vote of 4-1 after a 2 hour long city council discussion over Pearson.

I first heard about Pearson getting fired because another east Texas Conservative blog, Not on the Payroll, quickly posted up that Pearson had been fired.

Here are some of the things discussed in that meeting, according to the Beaumont Enterprise:

Pearson was questioned about different areas including hours he has put in during his tenure as police chief.

Being questioned by Johnson, Pearson said he works from "8:30 to 4:45 every day." But Johnson pointed to figures that showed that Pearson was out a number of days during the months of February through June.
Johnson also questioned the time that Capt. Curtis Frame puts in the office as well.

Lout centered his questions on if certain police procedures were followed during investigations and how come Pearson is not called out to major crime scenes.

"In the past, when we had a major crime, you would always see Chief (Todd) Hunter at the scene," Lout said. "Where are you at these scenes?"

I am sure that the city would like to move pass this and be done with all of the trouble and multiple lawsuits that the city has faced after the city hired an police chief in a backroom deal based on race and not qualifications of the candidates.
Unfortunately there are too many liberals out there and lawyers, like Cade Bernsen, who love to play the race card and will try to sue the city claiming they are racist and only fired Rodney Pearson because he is black. I am sure this saga is far from over....

Here are some of the previous articles that I have written about what has and is happening up there in Jasper:

ALERT: Amnesty in Proposed 2012 Texas GOP Platform - Click Here to Read Proposed Platform and Rules

CORRECTION:

My previous article said that the platform committee did this intentionally. I meant to say I believe it was done UNintentionally. The I and the U are beside each other on the keyboard and I am tired.

I believe the platform committee had good intentions and many of the things they did are good. I still believe some of the immigration section of the platform is vague in spots (like who will be deported if mass deportations are not possible and how specifically do we want the border secures). It has come to my attention though that, although much of the immigration section was taken out, many of the important parts of the immigration section are still scattered around the platform in other sections (like law enforcement which deals with deporting any criminal illegals). So that does make me feel better to see these important parts still scattered in the platform. I do not feel that anyone on the platform committee is for amnesty and instead, I just think the way some things are worded  should be clarified because it could come across as Amnesty.  (It was a split vote so almost have of the committee did not want this). Also, Amnesty might not even be the best word to describe what is in the platform because the proposed platform would require punishments like fines and no one would get a free pass.

Anyways, those are my couple of clarifications and corrections. I hope we can have civil debate tomorrow and work on passing a platform that does reflect some needed changes and clarifications on immigration so that we do not push away Hispanics, but at the same time we need to make sure we are not wording things in a way that people will mistake what we are saying as amnesty or a free pass.

Take Action to Remove Amnesty from Proposed Platform before Final Vote Friday!

The 2012 Texas State Republican Convention Platform Committee has finally finished the proposed 2012 Texas Republican Party Platform and the Republican Party of Texas has posted these proposals on the Republican Party of Texas Convention Website. For your convenience, you can just click on the links below to see the proposed rules and platform.

PROPOSED 2012 RPT RULES (PDF)

PROPOSED 2012 RPT RULES (WORD)

PROPOSED 2012 RPT PLATFORM (PDF)

PROPOSED 2012 RPT PLATFORM (WORD)

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION!!

This is the proposed platform. It still has to be voted on by the delegates at the convention tomorrow afternoon (Friday June 8th 2012). It can still be changed before the final vote.

This proposed platform WILL BE THE FINAL VERSION IF WE DO NOT TAKE ACTION TO CHANGE IT TOMORROW

Here is the problem.

The problem is that the platform committee did not have enough time to work on the immigration section and they HOPEFULLY UNTENTIONALLY allowed a section to be vague and basically says that the Republican Party of Texas is against deporting any illegal immigrants (amnesty)

THIS IS NUTS!

Ok, I understand wanting to really reach out to Hispanics and try to show what we are a party for Hispanics because we share conservative values. i am ok with many of the changes to the platform to more clearly state our immigration positions without turning off Hispanics. I understand that it is probably impossible to deport all 11 million illegals and we need to come up with a plan. At the same time though, putting in our platform that we are for Amnesty and that we are against deporting anyone is just nuts and will do nothing to solve the problem of illegal immigration and preventing it and encouraging people to come over legally.

The part of the proposed platform about securing the border is even vague. It does not say how we should secure the border. It should at least say that we need to put troops on the border to stop illegal immigration and protect America from the hundreds of thousands of Criminals and Violent Drug Cartel members who are coming over each year.

I do not believe this is what the members on the platform committee intended because they ran out of time, but this section most certainly needs to be clarified or taken out on the floor of the convention tomorrow.

below is the exact wording of the proposed Immigration Section of the platform. The entire Proposed Platform can be seen by clicking on the links at the top of this article

Proposed IMMIGRATION Section of 2012 Texas GOP Platform
The Texas Solution Because of decades-long failure of the federal government to secure our borders and address the immigration issue, there are now upwards of 11 million undocumented individuals in the United States today, each of whom entered and remain here under different circumstances.  Mass deportation of these individuals would neither be equitable nor practical; while blanket amnesty, as occurred with the Simpson-Mazzoli Act of 1986, would only encourage future violations of the law.  We seek common ground to develop and advance a conservative, market- and law-based approach to our nation’s immigration issues by following these principles:
1.    Secure Our Borders The U.S. Border must be secured immediately!  We demand the application of effective, practical and reasonable measures to secure our borders and to bring safety and security for all Americans along the border and throughout the nation.
2.    Modernize the United States Social Security Card We support the improvement of our 1936 Social Security card to use contemporary anti-counterfeit technology. The social security card will not be considered a National ID card for U.S. citizens.
3.    Birthright Citizenship We call on the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the United States to clarify Section 1 of the 14th amendment to limit citizenship by birth to those born to a citizen of the United States with no exceptions.
4.    Create an Effective and Efficient Temporary Worker Program A national Temporary Worker Program should be implemented to bring skilled and unskilled workers into the United States for temporary periods of time when no U.S. workers are currently available.  The program should also require:
·         Self-funding through participation fees and fines;
·         Applicants must pass a full criminal background check;
·         Applicants with prior immigration violations would only qualify for the program if they paid the appropriate fines;
·         Applicants and/or Employers must prove that they can afford and/or secure private health insurance;
·         Applicants must waive any and all rights to apply for financial assistance from any public entitlement programs;
·         Applicant must show a proficiency in the English language and complete an American civic class;
·         Temporary Workers would only be able to work for employers that deduct and match payroll taxes;
·         All participants would be issued an individual Temporary-Worker Biometric Identification Card that tracks all address changes and both civil and criminal court appearances as a defendant.

2012 Texas State Republican Convention Kicks off in Fort Worth, TX today!

I am currently at the biggest gathering of Republicans in the world. The 2012 Texas State Republican Convention on Fort Worth, TX. the location is obviously too small for this convention and in the next 2 years we either need to ask the location to find more rooms for us or we need to find out how much it will cost to break the contract and have the convention somewhere else in 2 years.

I had dinner last night with two of the Greatest Texans and great Republicans. Attorney General Greg Abbott and Governor Rick Perry

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told me he believes the Supreme Court will strike down Obamacare. Decision to come this month!

Governor Perry said he believes Obama is getting ready to print more money to try to save himself by making the economy look like it has more money and is doing better.. This would of course cause devaluation of the dollar.

Re-Elect David Bellow to SREC - Moderates are Trying to Remove Conservatives from Republican Party!

Please forward this message on to any Republicans in the 19 counties of Texas Senate District 3 (Anderson, Angelina, Cherokee, Hardin, Henderson, Houston, Jasper, Liberty, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler)

There is a push to kick out the most outspoken conservative Republicans on the SREC so that the party will attract more moderates to join the party who do not believe in our Republican values. I want more people to join the Party too, but not at the expense of our values. Compromising is what got America in this mess in the first place! We need to stand for what we believe!

I fought against the Moderates in the Republican Party on the SREC. I boldly stood for Republican values if our State Platform when others on the SREC wanted to water them down.
When I first got on to the SREC two years ago, I was a fresh face and was not part of any groups and did not play any political games. I just went in with a fresh mind and stood for what was right. I immediately saw needed changes and made them and stood where I saw moderates trying to take over.

If you want someone who is just going to show up to your meetings and pay you lip service and go along with the crowd never rocking the boat then don’t vote for me. If you want someone who is really trying to make a difference and is FIGHTING to protect our conservative values, and who will strive to always inform everyone of important issues going on in the Republican Party of Texas, then VOTE FOR ME

In my first year I proposed and passed a resolution calling for the proposed platform to be posted up online the night before the vote on the platform (I was tired of people not having time to read the proposed platform changes because they get the proposed platform on the day of the platform vote).

I amended the Bylaws to create an official Chaplain for the RPT when some did not want to have a Chaplain anymore There was also a question of whether or not to have a chaplain for the Republican party of Texas, I thought it would be crazy not to have one. It was revealed that the party did not officially have a chaplain position in the bylaws. Well I thought the answer to that was easy. Change the bylaws!

I fought to follow the 2010 Platform Legislative Priorities Report that required the RPT to publish a list of voting records of our leaders compared to our Party Values so we know how people really vote.  The 2010 State Republican Convention Delegates passed in the platform a section that asks the SREC to put out a legislative priorities report so that republicans can see how their leaders voted compared to the Party Platform values. I fought hard for the republicans of Texas who voted to put out this report, but the report did not pass due to the moderates voting it down because they do not want people to see that some Republicans do not really have Republican values.

I Kept Texas Republicans informed about IMPORTANT Texas Republican News and Issues via my Blog and Emails, more than any SREC member in the past has ever done. From redistricting/election date news to important issues that the Republican Party of Texas (SREC) was debating, I ALWAYS kept everyone informed. I posted hundreds of articles on my blog and sent out probably over 100 emails in the last 2 years with important updates. I strive to make sure everyone knows what is going on behind the scenes of the RPT. It is YOUR party and you should know what is going on!

I was ALWAYS Available to Help ANY County Chairman or Republican in or out of my District. When Jasper County’s chairman died and Cherokee County was having problems and their Chairman resigned, I was called by them about the problem and I immediately stepped in to help them through the process of getting back up and going with a new chairman. These are just two examples of how I have always been readily available and eager to help my district. I am not your chairman and I do not run your county party, but I am always here if you need any help or have any questions about the State Party. Just pick up the phone and call!

I Fought for our East Texas Conservatives that Moderate Joe Straus tried to kick out in Redistricting. Joe Straus was elected to speaker by the Democrats. Last year he did not stand in the way of the Republican Majority in the House of Representatives so we were able to get some Conservative Legislation passed, but he is not conservative himself and he has waged a war against the strong conservatives in East Texas who voted against Straus for Speaker of the House. He gutted Wayne Christian’s District so that Wayne lost and he tried to do the same with David Simpson and James White. I fought for James White against Straus and helped Super Conservative James White stay in office. I know that some fellow Republicans to not like me because I am not a fan of Joe Straus, but I stand first for our Republican Platform Values before I stand for people. Without our values we are just a big social group with nothing to stand on.

I Am Asking to be Re-Elected for Only one more 2 year term and then I Will Ask Someone Else to Run I am asking for 2 more years on the SREC so I can energetically fight Obama in this upcoming election and stand for conservative values on many important issues coming up this year (like redistricting in which many of our east Texas Conservative Republicans were hurt in redistricting by the more moderate Republicans in Texas) During this next two years, I would like to invite ANYONE who is interested in running for SREC to come to the meetings with me so you can start to understand the SREC and will know what you are getting into when you run in 2 years. I will not run again in 2 years because my wife and I have our first baby coming at the end of this year and in two years I will want to take a break from politics to focus more on my family and being home to raise a young child with good values. Family and God come first!

In less than 2 years that I have been on the SREC, I visited all 16 Counties in SD3 at least once and sometimes twice or three times (except one county that unfortunately did not have regular meetings to go to so I just visited with republicans in that county on my own). This was a hard task because the district is hundreds of miles across and many counties have meetings on the same day of the month.  I ran for SREC at the last convention and vowed to visit every County in Senate District 3. Some of the rural east Texas Counties had not been visited by a Committeeman in years and many of them did not even know what the SREC was. I knew I might make some of the bigger Republican Counties mad by not focusing on going to their meetings every month (I know some in Polk and Montgomery have asked why I have not gone to more of their meetings in the last couple of years). The way I saw it is that there were 16 counties (now 19) in SD 3 and I wanted to visit all of them, not just a select few that have the most votes to get re-elected.

Many on the SREC thought I did too much. I even had some SREC member come to me in my first SREC year and they told me I was doing too much and that I needed to just sit back and watch everyone my first two years to see how they run things. I told these SREC members that I was only elected for two years and my voters elected me to come to Austin to stand for conservative East Texas values and not just sit and watch.

I didn’t just sit and watch. Unfortunately I knew that the establishment and/or moderates would not like that I stood so strongly for Conservative values and did not play the political game.  I knew I would have people run against me for SREC. Some probably want me gone because they don’t like that I do not just follow along with everyone else, and some of the more moderate Republicans want me gone because I was too conservative. As a result, I believe I will have at least two challengers running against me to take my place on the SREC. So Please Vote to Keep Me on the SREC as a Strong Conservative Fighting for You!

I first got elected to the SREC only 2 years ago when Jim Wiggins was term limited out. The RPT has 8 year term limits because the Republicans in Texas understand the importance of not allowing someone to be in power too long so that fresh faces can come in and see potential problems that have been overlooked and give new life and energy to the Party. Even nice people in power for too long will get set in their ways and become part of a system. Jim completed his 8 year term and could not run again because he was term limited out. That is when I ran and got elected to the SREC.

I hear that Jim Wiggins is one of the gentlemen asked to run against me. He is a nice guy, but he did his term limit and we don’t need someone who will just fit in and go with the crowd. We need someone with energy who will stand strong for conservative values and fight off the push to make out Party more moderate. Jim didn’t even have anything to do with the district after he got off of the SREC. He even just sent an email to former Jasper Chairman Gene Acree because he did not even know that Gene passed away last year and Jasper has a new chairman now. I fear his interest is only to defeat me because I am too conservative and do not go along with the crowd. Please vote for me so I can continue to fight hard for conservative values for one more two year term.
