Dewhurst attacks Ted Cruz - THE FACTS ON THE CHINA LIES - Texas US Senate Race

Come on David Dewhurst,
I know this is a very competitive US Senate race with several good conservative candidates, but the attacks are just getting silly. Ted Cruz is no communist in favor of China. Ted Cruz actually argued in the Supreme Court against a Chinese Company who stole a U.S. Patent and Cruz Won!

I am not against Dewhurst. There are many good candidates in the race. I just think Cruz is the best and so do all the top conservative groups in Texas.

TED CRUZ - THE FACTS ON THE CHINA LIES

David Dewhurst is spending millions of dollars lying about Ted in a desperate, circus-like attempt to distract voters from his record of pushing a "wage tax" on Texans and increasing spending $72 billion. I wanted to make sure you have the facts on Dewhurst's China lies and share them with anyone interested.
David Dewhurst’s China Lies – The Facts
David Dewhurst is spending millions of dollars lying about Ted Cruz in a desperate attempt to distract voters from Dewhurst’s record of pushing a “wage tax” on Texans and increasing spending $72 billion.

Dewhurst Lie #1:
Ted is a “trial lawyer.”
Truth:
Ted is not a trial lawyer, a term that typically applies to plaintiffs’ lawyers who try cases to juries. Ted is an appellate lawyer—a lawyer who argues to courts of appeals and helps ensure that U.S. law is properly applied—and Morgan Lewis is representing the defendant, not the plaintiff, in this lawsuit.

Dewhurst Lie #2:
The defendants “hired Ted.”
Truth:
Ted works for a large law firm, with over 1,200 lawyers all over the world. The firm represents thousands of clients in tens of thousands of matters. One of those cases is a private civil lawsuit among several commercial tire companies, one of which is based in China. After that company was hit with a $26 million judgment, it hired the firm where Ted works to handle the appeal.

Dewhurst Lie #3:
Ted is “the lead lawyer” in the case.
Truth:
Ted had nothing whatsoever to do with the trial. Neither Ted nor Morgan Lewis represented anyone at trial. Ted was one of many lawyers working for multiple parties on both sides of the appeal. Ted helped edit the appellate briefs. Ted did not even argue the appeal—three other lawyers argued the appeal before the 4th Circuit.

Dewhurst Lie #4:
The plaintiff prevailed on “every single count.”
Truth:
The district court threw out several of the plaintiff's claims, both before and after trial. Specifically, the district court dismissed the registered-trademark claim, nine of the eleven unregistered-trademarks claims, and Plaintiff’s claim under the Virginia Business Conspiracy Act. Together, those dismissed claims represented nearly half of the substantive counts submitted to the jury.

Dewhurst Lie #5:
The defendants were found “guilty.”
Truth:
Nobody was found “guilty” of anything; a guilty verdict occurs in a criminal proceeding, and this was a civil lawsuit. Furthermore, Ted did not represent anyone in any capacity at trial.

Dewhurst Lie #6:
“What does Cruz do? Delays the case.”
Truth:An appeal is an ordinary part of civil litigation, and all three tire companies (including the Plaintiff) appealed the decision—so Morgan Lewis’ work on the appeal has not delayed the litigation even a single day.

Dewhurst Lie #7:The defendants are simply “waiting for the plaintiff to die.”
Truth:Plaintiff is quoting a statement made by another company—one that Morgan Lewis does not represent. Morgan Lewis has done nothing to delay the proceedings, and, in the course of litigation, Plaintiff himself has filed three motions for extension of time to delay the proceedings.

Dewhurst Lie #8:Ted supports and profits from “Chinese counterfeiting.”
Truth:Again, Ted did not argue this appeal. He did however, argue, before the U.S. Supreme Court, a major case involving a stolen U.S. patent. Global Tech v. SEB. Ted represented a large manufacturer before the U.S. Supreme Court against a Chinese company that had stolen a U.S. patent. At Ted’s urging, the Court, 8-1, upheld a $5 million verdict against the Chinese counterfeiter and adopted a strict legal standard against those who misappropriate U.S. intellectual property

TX AG Abbott Appeals Austin Judge Blocking Planned Parenthood Tax Funding Ban

According to Fox News, an Austin, TX Federal Judge, U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel, wants to force Texas to use our tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood whose majority of clinics provide abortions and kill unborn babies.

Thankfully, according to My FOX DFW, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is standing up for the people of Texas and is appealing this injunction.

If Texas is forced to give tax dollar funds to a company whose clinics provide abortions then Texas will just shut down the Women's Program. You see, Planned Parenthood, the liberals, and even Obama care more about funding Planned Parenthood and killing babies than they care about keeping a women's health service available for women to be able to get help at places that do not provide abortions.

Media Protecting Obama - 2x More Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan under Obama than 8 years of Bush - No Outrage

There have been 1954 U.S. soldiers killed so far in the Afghanistan war according to icasualties

1324 of those Deaths have occurred in less than 3 1/2 years under Obama while only 630 of those deaths occurred in 8 years under George W. Bush

WHY NO MEDIA OUTRAGE?

I remember when Bush was President the Liberal Media stations and news outlets had daily updates of the number of U.S. Soldiers killed with pictures and everything. Now It is almost hard to find out how many soldiers are dying every day because when a soldier dies now it is not on the front page or sometimes not even reported at all.

I am not going to get into any discussions of whether or not wars are right or wrong. The point of this blog post is to show that the media is clearly showing their bias and hypocrisy by no longer Bashing Obama over the deaths like they bashed Bush.

THE MEDIA IS PROTECTING OBAMA

The media apparently does not care about the Soldiers or about how many were dying. If they did then they would have continued attacking Obama over the rising U.S. Soldier death toll.

The media only reported those death numbers under Bush because they wanted to try to indoctrinate the general public with negative views of Bush. Now that Obama is in office, they are backing off and trying to protect him from negative attention from the rising U.S. Soldier death toll.

Over twice as many U.S. soldiers have died in Afghanistan under Obama in 3 1/2 years than did under Bush in 8 years! Have you heard any major news station of media outlet say that? When is the last time you even saw a death toll number with made up milestones?

Where are all of the anti-war protesters now? Why no big rallies?

This tells me that these groups and the media never really cared as much about the deaths of the soldiers as they cared about just hating Bush and trying to make him look bad.

Not only is the media protecting Obama, they are also giving him credit for things that Bush did.

For instance, Bush policies and actions led to Osama Bin Laden getting found. Waterboarding a Guantanamo Bay terrorist resulted in the tip that eventually let to Osama Bin Laden. Obama was against waterboarding and Guantanamo Bay so if Obama had his way, we would have never gotten the tip in the first place. Obama just happened to be President when Bush Policies came through! New memos show that an Admiral was the person who came up with the plan and made the tough decisions, Not Obama. The memo even shows that Obama was likely going to blame the Admiral if things went bad and Osama was not there.

Texas Democrat State Representative Ron Reynolds Arrested and Jailed

from the Southeast Texas Record

A state representative who was named the Democrats' "Freshman of the Year" spent some time in jail Tuesday night.

State Rep. Ron Reynolds (District 27), a managing partner at Brown, Brown and Reynolds Law Firm, is accused of illegally soliciting legal cases.

Reynolds, 38, whose district includes Fort Bend County, was arrested Tuesday. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released after midnight Wednesday. He will make his first court appearance Thursday.

According to Fox 26 in Houston, another Houston attorney, Marcela Halmagean, filed a complaint against Reynolds that led to his arrest.

The complaint alleges Reynolds used an individual to solicit Halmagean as a client when she was involved in an auto crash.

Texas law prohibits soliciting a client for legal services, and just last year, the Texas Legislature passed a statute that makes barratry a civil as well as criminal infraction, allowing civil suits to be filed.

Reynolds, a former municipal court judge, past president of the Houston Lawyers Association and an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University was named "Freshman of the Year" in 2011 by the House Democratic Caucus.

But the barratry charge is not the first time Reynolds has been in trouble. He was previously fined $10,000.00 by the Texas Ethics Commission for refusing to file legally-required disclosure statements.

A KXAN News investigation shows that as of June 1, 2011, Reynolds owed the Texas Ethics Commission nearly $10,260 in fines relating to failure to file the required financial disclosure reports required of candidates for public office and officeholders.

The Texas Attorney General's Office took Reynolds to court to collect the fines, and the lawmakers now owes the AG $2,500, plus interest, in court costs, the investigations shows. The Texas Comptroller's Office is now garnishing his legislative salary to collect the debt.

He also failed to submit his Personal Financial Statement for 2008, 2010 and 2011. Failure to file a Personal Financial Statement is a Class B Misdemeanor. If convicted, the penalty is up to 180 days in jail, a fine of up to $2,000, or both.

Gay "It Gets Better" Anti-Bullying Speaker Outed for Bullying Christian KIDS

If Obama and all these liberal groups supporting "It Gets Better" want to really stand up against bullying then they should stand up and tell the world that what Dan Savage did by bullying these Christian KIDS is wrong.

Let me be clear, this following story from Todd Starnes of Fox News about Dan Savage of "It Gets Better" Bullying Christian kids is just another example of persecution and hypocrisy that Christians face in America.

Worldwide now and throughout history, Christians are killed and bullied on a mass scale for believing in Jesus. Bullying because of homosexuality does not even get measured on the same scale as the persecution that Christians face. Soon America will be added to the list of countries where Christians are persecuted simply for believing in something that the liberals do not like.

These liberals with pro homosexual agendas say they are against bullying, unless you are a Christian and then it is ok to bully you.

They do not just want tolerance, they want acceptance and for their actions to be labeled as normal.

They call for everyone to be tolerant of different beliefs (specifically homosexuality), unless you are a Christian and it is ok to be intolerant towards your Christian beliefs.

They call for an end to hate, unless you do not approve of homosexuality, and then is ok to hate you.

They use freedom of speech and expression but turn around and deny that right to Christians.
They glorify thug, criminal football players but demonize Tim Tebow for praying during football games

If Obama and all these liberal groups supporting "It Gets Better" want to really stand up against bullying then they should stand up and tell the world that what Dan Savage did by bullying these Christian KIDS is wrong.

They won't though. Because that's the road America is headed down. The road where pastors will be arrested for hate speech simply because they preach the truths of the Bible. The road where Christians will be persecuted by people claiming to be against persecution.

Anti-Bullying Speaker Curses Christian Teens

By Todd Starnes

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy asses.”
The speaker was Dan Savage, founder of the “It Gets Better” project, an anti-bullying campaign that has reached more than 40 million viewers with contributors ranging from President Obama to Hollywood stars. Savage also writes a sex advice column called “Savage Love.”
Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference.

FOLLOW TODD ON FACEBOOK FOR CULTURE WAR NEWS

Savage was supposed to be delivering a speech about anti-bullying at the National High School Journalism Conference sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. But it turned into an episode of Christian-bashing.
Rick Tuttle, the journalism advisor for Sutter Union High School in California, was among several thousand people in the audience. He said they thought the speech was one thing – but it turned into something else.
“I thought this would be about anti-bullying,” Tuttle told Fox news. “It turned into a pointed attack on Christian beliefs.”
Tuttle said a number of his students were offended by Savage’s remarks – and some decided to leave the auditorium.
“It became hostile,” he said. “It felt hostile as we were sitting in the audience – especially towards Christians who espouse beliefs that he was literally taking on.”
Tuttle said the speech was laced with vulgarities and “sexual innuendo not appropriate for this age group.” At one point, he said Savage told the teenagers about how good his partner looked in a speedo.
The conservative website CitizenLink was the first to report about the controversy. They interviewed a 17-year-old girl who was one of students who walked out of the auditorium.
“The first thing he told the audience was, ‘I hope you’re all using birth control,’” she told CitizenLink. “he said there are people using the Bible as an excuse for gay bullying, because it says in Leviticus and Romans that being gay is wrong. Right after that, he said we can ignore all the (expletive deleted) in the Bible.”
As the teenagers were walking out, Tuttle said that Savage heckled them and called them “pansy asses.”

The executive director of the National Scholastic Press Association provided Fox News with joint statement from the Journalism Education Association that was sent to members – after a number of people complained about Savage’s remarks.
“We appreciate the level of thoughtfulness and deliberation regarding Dan Savage’s keynote address,” the NSPA wrote. “some audience members who felt hurt by his words and tone decided to leave in the middle of his speech, and to this, we want to make our point very clear: While as a journalist it’s important to be able to listen to speech that offends you, these students and advisers had simply reached their tolerance level for what they were willing to hear.”
The NSPA said they did not have a prior transcript of Savage’s speech and that wish “he had stayed more on target for the audience of teen journalists.” They also said it provided a “teachable moment” for students.
As for Savage’s attack on people of faith?
“While some of his earlier comments were so strongly worded that they shook some of our audience members, it is never the intent of JEA or NSPA to let students get hurt during their time at our conventions,” they wrote.
However, not once did the NSPA or the JEA offer any apologies to the students or faculty advisors or anyone else in attendance.
Candi Cushman, who writes a blog on CitizenLink, noted the irony.
“Using profanity to deride the bible – and then mocking the Christian students after they left the room — is obviously a form of bullying and name-calling,” she wrote. “This illustrates perfectly what we’ve been saying all along: Too many times in the name of ‘tolerance,’ Christian students find their faith being openly mocked and belittled in educational environments.”
Tuttle said that he “felt duped” by the event. “There were Christian schools who went to the conference. To have this happen was disappointing and shocking.”
And for some of his students – they felt like the anti-bullying activist was in fact – the bully.
The NSPA said they should have done a better job preparing schools for what to expect.

Texas Comptroller & Amazon.com Agreement brings 2500 jobs & Millions in Investments to TX

Not long ago it was discovered that Amazon was operating a facility in Texas without paying sales tax. This of course was a problem because everyone else in Texas pays sales tax, including the small local bookstores. A little over a year later, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has announced an agreement with Amazon that settles the tax dispute and will bring 2,500 new jobs to Texas and $200 million in capital investments. This is great news for the Texas economy. This is also great news for Amazon.com because Texas is very business friendly and Amazon will enjoy a great environment in which to do business. Texas has fared much better than other states in this economic downturn and many companies are moving to Texas to enjoy the business friendly environment.

Susan Combs and Amazon also went a step further by calling on Congress to make a more simplified and more equitable framework that protects states' rights.

Press Release from Texas Comptroller Susan Combs Regarding Amazon Agreement:

Online Retailer and Texas Leadership Call for Federal Action on Sales Tax

(AUSTIN, TX and SEATTLE, WA) — Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Susan Combs and Amazon.com, Inc. today announced an agreement that will lead to the creation of thousands of new jobs in Texas by the online retailer.

According to the agreement between the Comptroller of Public Accounts and Amazon, the Company plans over the next four years to create at least 2,500 jobs and make at least $200 million in capital investments in the state and will begin to collect and remit Texas sales tax on July 1, 2012. The agreement resolves all sales tax issues between Texas and Amazon.

“We thank Amazon for partnering with us to find a solution that works for our state,” said Combs. “This is an important step in leveling the playing field in Texas; however, Congress should enact federal legislation that will give states access to revenues that are already due, which would resolve this issue fairly for all retailers and all states.”

“Amazon looks forward to creating thousands of new jobs in Texas and we appreciate Comptroller Combs working with us to advance federal legislation,” said Amazon Vice President of Global Public Policy Paul Misener. “We strongly support the creation of a simplified and equitable federal framework, because Congressional action will protect states’ rights, level the playing field for all sellers, and give states like Texas the ability to obtain all the sales tax revenue that is already due.”

George W. Bush Biking in TX - Obama Wants to Ride Bikes too! (Funny Picture)

www.Amarillo.com wrote a story and posted some pictures of Former President George W. Bush biking through Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle.

George W. looks like he really knows what he is doing.

Compare that to Obama riding a bike.

I can imagine what Obama asking Bush, "Vring Vring, can I tag along?"

Texas Congressman Ted Poe Calls for Resignation of EPA Official Who wanted to "Crucify" Oil and Gas Producers

Caroline May is really on top of Texas politics. In her latest article on the Daily Caller, Caroline reports on Texas Congressman Ted Poe's call for EPA official Al Armendariz to resign after publicly stating that he wanted to "crucify" oil and gas producers.

“They’d go into a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw and they’d crucify them,” said Armendariz. “And then you know that town was really easy to manage for the next few years. And so you make examples out of people who are in this case not compliant with the law.”

“The comments made by Administrator Armendariz back in 2010 confirm what we’ve known all along: the EPA’s crusade to destroy the oil and gas industry is a politically premeditated effort, not one meant to protect the environment,” Poe said. “Administrator Armendariz’s words reflect his disdain for the oil and gas industry and make clear that his decisions are made without an ounce of impartiality. He should be fired.”

“The oil and gas industry accounts for 9.2 million jobs in the United States. ‘Making examples’ of this field has put American jobs in jeopardy,” Poe added. “Ironically, Mr. Armendariz’s oversees the EPA’s efforts in Texas, which has been hit especially hard. Oil and gas and related industries make up nearly a quarter of the Texas economy. An assault on oil and gas is an assault on Texas.”

Texas Contractor Leaves Job after Discovering it was Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic

Talk about standing for what you believe. That is what one Texas Contractor has done, even if it meant losing money.

A Planned Parenthood abortion mill is currently being built in Fort Worth, TX. No one knew what was being built, not even the construction workers. When word got out that they were building an abortion facility, at least one contractor left the job right before he was to pour the concrete, and also left behind a good chunk of change in a rough economy.

It is good to see that not everyone is willing to sell out. This contractor stood for his religious beliefs and did not want to be a part of killing innocent babies no matter how much money he would be gaining if he stayed on the job.

Shame on Planned Parenthood for trying to keep the construction workers from knowing what their hard work would be going to build. Shame on them for also building this facility right beside an adoption facility that offers hope for children instead of sentencing them to death.

TX Woman gets over 3000 signatures for Texas Presidential Debate (w/ Mitt Romney & Ron Paul?)

Update: Petition now has over 5000 signatures!

This past weekend at my County Convention in Hardin County, TX, I was pleasantly surprised when a young woman from my county,
Chelsea Willis, approached me and said she had a petition with over 3000 signatures on it. The petition was to try to persuade Mitt Romney to come to a Texas Republican Presidential Debate. The petition is titled "Potential Nominees, attend the GOP Debate (Houston, TX on May 24th, 2012)"

In recent years, Texas has had little say in the Republican Presidential Race. The Texas GOP tried to put Texas on the map by getting together a debate on May 24th in Houston, TX. Mitt Romney was the only candidate to snub this Texas debate.

Even with Santorum suspending his campaign (dropping out of the race), Chelsea knew that the race was not over and many states still have not voted, so on April 14th Chelsea sprang into action by starting an online petition in support of this Texas debate with Gingrich, Paul and Romney. The petition specifically urges Mitt Romney to attend.

Since the start of the petition, Gingrich has also announced he suspending his campaign (dropping out)

Although it now seems unlikely that any other Presidential candidate other than Mitt Romney will get the Republican Nomination, it is encouraging to see that even regular voters in little Texas counties are standing up and trying to make a difference. Getting over 3000 signatures is pretty impressive for this rather low-key controversy.

Even with just Ron Paul and Mitt Romney left in the race, the point is to show Romney that Texas does not like being ignored, so I encourage everyone to go to this link and sign the petition http://www.change.org/petitions/mitt-romney-debate-ron-paul-houston-tx-on-may-24th-2012

Who knows, if she gets enough signatures maybe Romney will actually take notice. I hear that a major news outlet would be interested in a debate with just Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. That would be interesting!

Below is a personal letter from Chelsea Willis regarding her petition:

I created a petition titled "Potential Nominees, attend the GOP Debate (Houston, TX on May 24th, 2012)" because I care deeply about who becomes the GOP nominee.

I understand that the SREC has received a commitment from a major television network to televise the debate, and that the remaining GOP nominees, except Romney, have pledged to be at the debate. In addition, it is my understanding that the SREC passed a resolution that intensely urged the uncommitted nominee to attend the Texas GOP Presidential Debate. In response, I have created an online petition to encourage Romney to debate Gingrich and Paul. The ultimate purpose of the petition is to gather constituent support for the debate, and I could really use your assistance in getting out the word. A substantial number of signatures will convince the uncommitted nominee that attending the debate is in the best interest of his campaign.

To read more about what I'm trying to do and to sign my petition, click here.

It will just take a minute!

Once you are done, please ask your friends to sign the petition as well. Grassroots movements succeed because people like you are willing to spread the word!

Sincerely,
Chelsea Willis

TX Congressman Canseco Slaps TSA Agent's Hand that Groped Crotch, Agent Cries Assault

A TSA agent grabbed the genitals of Texas Republican Congressman Canseco at a San Antonio Airport. The Congressman reacted instinctively to protect his private parts and the Congressman pushed down the hand of the TSA agent. Now the TSA agent is crying and saying the Congressman assaulted him. Are you serious? Is this even America? No charges were filed but the TSA agent should be the one getting charged for assault. Touching someone's genitals does NOTHING to keep airlines secure. There is a limit to what should be given up in order to be safe and these pat downs go too far.

These searches and even the porno body scanners do not protect us anymore than regular metal detectors. These measures only help keep nuisance items off of airlines and it comes at much to high a price. These scanners have had guns go through them undetected for crying out loud. Random pat searches are not even effective. Why did the TSA grab the crotch of this war veteran with shrapnel in his leg? This man fought for your rights and you want to touch his junk in return? And what is the purpose of tormenting this little 4 year old girl and touching her private parts? None of this will stop a terrorist. If someone wants to blow up a plane they are going to do it no matter how many genitals the TSA agents grab. The terrorist will just find a way around it. The terrorist will likely start using TSA agents as part of their plans. Just this week, TSA agents in Los Angeles were charged with engaging in drug trafficking by allowing drugs to pass through the security checkpoints. Every week it seems like a different TSA agent is getting charged with something. You don't think a terrorist will eventually find a TSA agent who will go along with the sinister plot for the right price? It is only a matter of time.

We need a House and Senate with the backbone to end these pointless attacks on our dignity. Texas tried to stand up against this once. State Representative David Simpson introduced a bill to make touching someone's crotch a crime. That bill was killed in a special session after our Democrat Supporting Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus killed the bill and said it was a publicity stunt (to be accurate, it did pass the house bt not senate at the end of the regular session 2011 but then everyone got scared of the DOJ and it was killed in the house in the Special Session after Straus said he would not let it get to te floor cause it was just a stunt). Not everyone can afford riding in a private Jet like you Joe Straus. It is time to stop being scared and time to stop playing politics. We need representatives who will be bold and stand against this unconstitutional intrusion.

Pretty soon America will start to have Hunger Games. The government will protect and feed us as long as every year each state offers up a tribute to battle to the death....

SCOTUS Likely to Uphold AZ Immigration Law, Obama must Remember Not Defending Border Led to Declaration of Independence

The Supreme Court of the United States appears likely to uphold some of the key provisions in the Arizona Immigration law. This comes on the heels of the SCOTUS signaling that they will likely be striking down Obamacare, specifically because of problems with the individual mandate. This would be a slap in the face to the Obama Administration and would add to the list of Obama's failed understanding of the Constitution and States Rights.

On protecting the Border, President Obama is forgetting his American history.

One of the main reasons listed in the US Declaration of Independence as reason for separation from Great Britian was because they were not protecting the Borders of the 13 US Colonies.

68% of Americans approve of the Arizona Immigration Law in a recent poll. Americans want the borders to be protected and immigration controlled instead of thousands of criminals coming over illegally into their communities.
And you were a College Professor Obama? Maybe you should try re-reading the Declaration of Independence and a little US History because your knowledge is getting a little rusty.

Governor Perry and Top Texas Conservative Groups Endorse Black State Rep James White over Mike Tuffy Hamilton in HD 19 Republican Primary Election

The Governor of Texas, along with other high ranking Republican officials, will be stopping by Southeast Texas soon. They will be coming here to endorse State Representative James White in his re-election big to the Texas House of Representatives against Mike Hamilton in the HD 19 Primary Race which includes Hardin County, Polk County, Tyler County, Jasper County and Newton County. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has already endorsed James White.
James White is one of the few minority (black) elected officials in the Texas Legislature. That is not why he is getting so much support though. James White is getting so much support because he was a “rock star conservative” in his first term as a Republican State Representative.
James White looks young and possibly not set in his conservative values, but the truth is that he is older than he looks and he is well grounded in his conservative Republican principles. Think about this, James White was an Army officer who served in Berlin under President Ronald Reagan and James White was even in Berlin when the Berlin Wall came down. He is now a rancher, a teacher and an East Texas Conservative Republican State Representative.
He got into the Texas Legislature by challenging and beating long time East Texas Democrat State Representative Jim McReynolds. He did not stop there though. He pushed forward and boldly stood for Conservative Christian values during his entire first term. When many State Representatives went along with the establishment and voted Yes to Joe Straus as Speaker of the House, James White stood up and voted no. Joe Straus is a RINO Speaker of the House. He was elected to be the speaker by the Democrats. Straus has been supported by Planned Parenthood and he has even funded and supported Democrats to beat Republicans. Voting against Joe Straus was the first conservative vote by James White, but it was not his last.
James White finished the legislative session with one of the top Conservative voting records out of all of the State Representatives in Texas. He was not a representative that goes to Austin and then you rarely hear about what he is doing because he blends in with the crowd. James White made waves and stood strong for conservative values against the establishment and he will continue to do so.
James White has garnered impressive top Conservative Voting Scores and/or endorsements from all of the most trusted conservative organizations in Texas, such as Texas Right to Life (http://www.texasrighttolife.com/legislators.asp), the Texas Eagle Forum (http://texaseagle.org/legislative-scorecard/2011-scorecard.html), the Heritage Alliance (http://www.heritagealliance.com/tcr/tcrhome.php), Texans for Fiscal Responsibility (http://www.empowertexans.com/2011-fri-taxpayer-champions/), and the Young Conservatives of Texas (http://www.yct.org/wp-content/uploads/ratings/YCT_82nd_Session_Ratings.pdf).
Mike Hamilton has told me that the reason Susan Combs is endorsing James White is because Bob Perry (a wealthy Texas home builder) and Texans for Lawsuit Reform have given large contributions to both Susan Combs and James White. Hamilton asked me to look into that and post it on my blog. To be fair to Hamilton, I did look into that connection. What I found is that Bob Perry and TLR both contribute to most Republicans in Texas. In fact, Mike Hamilton has received well over $80,000 from Bob Perry and also large amounts from TLR. The idea that Susan Combs is endorsing James White based on contributions from Bob Perry or TLR is something I do not think is right because Bob Perry and TLR have also contributed tens of thousands to Mike Hamilton too.
I am a little upset that Mike Hamilton and James White are facing each other. Mike Hamilton is not a bad guy. I have had some issues with Mike Hamilton over the years like when Hamilton recently authored a bill to try to bring casinos to Texas and when he voted for Straus to be Speaker of the House (Straus gets his family money from gambling businesses and would greatly benefit from Casinos in Texas). Overall though, Mike Hamilton is a decent guy whom I have known for some time. He is not as good of a conservative or as willing to stand up and be outspoken as James White though. I don't like to play politics or vote for someone because they are my friend or because they have been in office for a long time. I always vote for the best guy and the best guy in this race is James White. That is why I have also made my final decision to endorse James White for State Rep over Mike Hamilton. I have no ill will towards Mike Hamilton. I think Joe Straus is using Mike Hamilton. Joe Straus is attempting to oust Conservative Republican James White by putting Hardin County into James White's new district. Joe Straus knew that Mike Hamilton (one of the Chairmen under Straus) was planning to move from Orange County to Hardin County after redistricting. Straus wanted to try to get James White out of the legislature so Straus put James White in the same district as Mike Hamilton. Mike Hamilton ultimately was the one to make the decision to move to Hardin County to face James White. Hamilton could have stayed in Orange County and would have run against State Rep Allan Ritter. Ritter is only 50% conservative and there are even Democrats with a higher conservative rating that Ritter. Hamilton would have easily been the better conservative in a race against Ritter and I would have campaigned hard for Hamilton to beat Ritter. I wish Hamilton would have stayed in Orange County. Hamilton did not decide to stay in Orange County though. Hamilton decided to move to Hardin County and face Super Conservative Republican James White. That was a bad move because James White is the better, more exciting Conservative Republican.

I, along with Governor Perry, other Statewide leaders, and the top Conservative and Republican organizations in Texas, have or are going to endorse and support State Representative James White in the Texas House District 19 Republican Primary Election on May 29th, 2012

Sincerely,
David Bellow

Texas Republican County and SD Conventions THIS Saturday until NEXT Saturday 4/21/12

County & District Conventions Begin This Saturday!
Starting this Saturday, April 14th, Texas Republicans will begin assembling in various counties across the state to conduct County & District Republican Conventions. The process will also continue next Saturday, April 21st, for counties which have chosen to hold their conventions on that date.
The Republican Party of Texas has created a website with a full list of county-by-county information, where you can go to learn the date, time and location of your local Republican convention, as well as finding the answers to Frequently Asked Questions and other information about the GOP Convention Process in 2012.
Due to the redistricting lawsuit and rescheduled Texas Primary Election, the RPT has built this website as a way for Republicans to quickly gain information on how to activate and participate within the party's convention process and the ways in which the process has changed to handle this year's unique challenges and calendar. The website contains helpful links such as:
  • Find Your Convention - a database to find county specific information on your local convention.
  • New for 2012 - a thorough explanation on the changes to this year's convention process.
  • FAQ - for those who are new to our conventions.
  • Downloads - a helpful page with links to RPT rules, platform, forms and infographics.
One of the important changes in 2012 is that Republican precinct conventions have been made optional and left to the discretion of county Republican executive committees. This option has been decided on a county-by-county basis, and the State Party has constructed a full database of county information on the website for Republicans to quickly find information on their local process. If your County is holding precinct conventions, you must be nominated as a delegate out of your precinct conventions in order to move on to the next step of County & District Conventions. In most cases, counties following this option are holding the precinct conventions immediately prior to the County & District Convention.
For those who are new to the process, the purposes of these conventions are to choose delegates and alternates to the Republican Party of Texas State Convention, and to consider resolutions or statements on policy issues to send to the State Convention for eventual inclusion in the state and national Party platform.
If you wish to participate in your local County or District Republican Convention, please visit the website to find the location in your County. In order to be selected as a Delegate or Alternate to the 2012 RPT State Convention, you must be nominated and approved at your local convention.
We hope you will come back to the website frequently over the coming days and weeks - there will be many exciting updates and announcements to share as we progress through the Convention process and ultimately to the RPT State Convention in June!

Texas Winner Take All to Be Voted on at GOP State Convention, not Emergency SREC Meeting

The recent controversy of whether or not the Republican Party of Texas will go back “Winner Take All” will not be decided in an Emergency Texas GOP SREC Meeting. The question will be tackled at the June 2012 Texas Republican State Convention in Fort Worth, TX.

The Texas GOP will not be calling an Emergency SREC meeting after many SREC members (including members in favor of Winner Take All) expressed interest in holding off on making the decision until the State Convention. Instead of an Emergency Meeting, the issue of going back to Winner Take All will be given to the Convention Rules Committee and then voted on by the thousands of Republican Delegates and the Texas Republican State Convention.

I, along with the current and former Texas GOP Chairmen, am for Winner Take All. Texas has always been Winner Take All and it is something that has been voted on by the thousands of grassroots Republican delegates at the Last State Convention and past State Conventions. It is a system that allows Texas to have a bigger voice in the Presidential Race instead of being irrelevant in the Presidential Race, like we are this year. The only reason Texas went to proportional from Winner Take All was because the SREC was forced by the RNC to go to proportional because we were having a pre April Primary Election. Now that our Primary will be well after April, we should go back to Winner Take all because that is what the Delegates at the State Convention voted on. Who are we (62 SREC members) to defy the decision of Texas Republicans?

To make things easy and less confusing, I am not advocating for any drastic changes. I just want to go back to our old Texas Winner Take All system that Texas Republicans know and have voted to have. Our old Texas Winner Take All was not a true Winner Take All. It is a very good “modified” Winner Take All that is based on local level Congressional Districts. Basically, if you win a Congressional District you get the Republican Presidential delegates from that Congressional District. So it is a “winner take all” system because a candidate can win all the delegates in Texas, but it is actually fair and better than proportional because it allows the local Congressional Districts the ability to have a voice.

I would have liked the SREC to go ahead and have the emergency meeting to go back to our old Winner Take All system. We have the 15 members needed to call the meeting and we probably have the votes needed to change back. We already know Winner Take All is what the Republican Delegates in Texas want because that is what they voted on at the last convention. I guess I am one of those “remember the Alamo”
Although I would like to go back to Winner Take All NOW in an Emergency Meeting while there is still time to work out any kinks, I am satisfied with holding off and bringing the issue at the State Convention for the Republican Delegates to vote on.

My push to go back to Winner Take All instead of being bullied into proportional does not end here now that there will not be a meeting. My push for Winner Take All will continue until the State Convention. I hope the Texas Delegates at the State Convention will not cave to the threats from the RNC. Texas is known for standing our ground, not for backing down.

Texas U.S. Senate Debate TONIGHT 7pm Televised – Ted Cruz, Craig James, David Dewhurst, Tom Leppert – April 13th, 2012

Texas will have a new Senator next year now that Kay Bailey Hutchinson will be retiring. This race, along with many other races, has probably been overshadowed by the Presidential race. Some people might not even care to vote in the Texas Republican Presidential Primary Election on May 29th, 2012 because they do not feel that is matters now that Texas will have no say in the Presidential race.

It IS important to go vote still! We might not have a say in the Presidential Race, AGAIN, but there are MANY important races for Congress and Senate and local races. We have to still get out and vote!

The Texas US Senate battle has been on for several months now and it is very likely that no candidate will win over 50% on May 29th which means the top 2 will go to a runoff election.

This is a very competitive race and many people might not know who everyone is and what they stand for.
Tonight you will get a chance to see the top 4 Candidates on the same stage in a televised debate. The candidates at the debate tonight are Ted Cruz, Craig James, David Dewhurst, and Tom Leppert.

There has been only one other big debate with the top candidates back in January but that was not a televised debate. It was an online debate sponsored by Texas Public Policy Foundation and Empower Texans. It was a great debate.

This televised debate will help bring even much more needed attention to this race and to the candidates.

Watch the Debate TONIGHT 7pm

The debate will be televised live on various markets and online here. You can watch the debate tonight at 7:00 PM CT on WFAA in D/FW, KVUE in Austin, KHOU in Houston, KENS in San Antonio, or online. If you tweet, be sure to join us online by using the hash tags #TXSen, #BeloDebate

Rick Santorum Dropping Out of Race, Texas GOP SREC Members Still Pushing for Winner Take All

Rick Santorum has made the decision to drop out of the 2012 Republican Presidential race. I believe it has to do with tending to his ill daughter.

This does not affect the push to have an Emergency Texas GOP SREC Meeting to change our rules back to Winner Take All.

The push for Winner Take All has never been about Santorum for me. It has always been about not being bullied, making Texas relevant, and going back to the Winner Take All delegate plan that the Republicans in Texas voted to have at the State Convention.

Sincerely,
David Bellow

Texas GOP State Chairman Munisteri is FOR Winner Take All – It's Fair & Grassroots Want It - RNC Waiver Likely

The State Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas has come out and expressed support for Texas going back to Winner Take All. He also explained why the Texas GOP has a good reason to qualify for a waiver if needed due to our circumstances, and also explained that the National Convention Delegates (Not the RNC) would vote to make the ultimate decision of whether or not Texas should be penalized.

See Bottom of this Article for the Video and Transcript of What Texas GOP Chairman Munisteri had to Say about Texas Winner Take All

Including this recent support from Chairman Munisteri, the support for Winner Take All has been impressive.
The Current Chairman supports it, the Former Chairman Cathie Adams supports it (Munisteri beat Adams for TX GOP Chairman in a heated race two years ago) Kelly Shackelford, the former Attorney for the RNC, also supports it. Even David Barton, one of the most highly influential and respected Republican in Texas, has come out supporting it.

Winner Take All is More Fair

Going back to our previous Winner Take All system is also more fair than proportional because our previous winner take all system was not a true winner take all system. It is a modified winner take all that allows each Congressional District in Texas to have a voice. In our previous winner take all system, if a candidate wins 50% or more in a congressional district then they win all the delegates in that congressional district. If they do not win 50% or more in a district then the top vote getter in that district gets 2 delegates and the runner up gets 1. That is local control at its best because the congressional district is the lowest level in a presidential election. Our past “winner take all” system that the SREC wants to go back to is not a true winner take all and it is actually very fair and geared so that each congressional district has a voice.

Grassroots Republicans Support and Voted for Winner Take All and NOT Proportional

Winner take all is what the GRASSROOTS Republicans want. Winner take all has been voted on as our delegation allocation by all the delegates at the State convention. Winner Take all is what Texas WAS and is what has been approved by the delegates from all over Texas at the last State Convention. The only reason we changed to proportional is because we were forced. We just want to go back to what the PEOPLE of Texas have voted to have (winner take all) instead of being irrelevant by staying with proportional (which was not voted on or supported by TX Republicans and was only done to not be penalized by the RNC rules)

I have received some emails from Ron Paul guys saying that we should listen to the grassroots because the grassroots want proportional and that for the SREC to go to winner take all would be and act of elitism and part of a backroom deal.

They are wrong and I have PROOF that the Grassroots Republicans in Texas want Winner Take All and NOT Proportional

My proof is the State Convention.

Every 2 years the 10,000+ Republican Representatives from all over Texas meet for the State Convention. They are the grassroots and they vote on the delegate selection rules. If the "grassroots" want proportional then they could vote to be proportional at the State Convention. If the grassroots did not want to be "modified winner take all" then they would have and could have changed it at the state convention. They HAVE NOT done so. Over the past Conventions, the Grassroots Republican Delegates at the Texas State GOP Convention have CONSISTENTLY voted to keep our winner take all system and not change to proportional.

That is PROOF that the grassroots do not want us to have proportional. Elitism in a backroom deal is what occurred to force TX to become proportional in the first place against our own wishes. The grassroots and the delegates at the State Convention did not vote on that. It was forced upon us. So when someone says it is against the grassroots for the SREC to vote to go back to winner take all, remind them that the SREC members are elected to follow the wishes of the last state convention, and all those grassroots Republicans at the last convention voted to stay winner take all and not proportional!

Sincerely,
David Bellow

Here is what TX GOP Chairman Munisteri had to say about Winner Take All
This is not a full or exact transcript. Also below this transcript you can click and watch the entire video of the interview with Munisteri so you can see for yourself exactly what he said.

4.8.12-- Inside Texas Politics – Brad Watson interviewed Steve Munisteri, Texas Republican Party Chair (RPT).

Munisteri explained that he has always been a supporter of Winner Take All. He said that it is not just Rick Santorum supporters that are and have always been for winner take all. Munisteri says he is still undecided.

Munisteri said that Texas has the second most Republican delegates (second to California), more than 3 X the number from Florida, and 6 X more than the number from South Carolina. He believes if Texas moves to WTA that our state will stop being ignored as inconsequential and that Texas can play a big part in the final selection of our Presidential nominee.

Munisteri said it takes 15 of 62 SREC members to request an emergency meeting. He stated that the SREC/WTA supporters already have the 15, but they are making sure they have a two-thirds majority before submitting their formal request to him to schedule the meeting. Munisteri believes there is already a majority of the SREC members who want WTA.

Munisteri said the delegate count of 650 for Mitt Romney that is often stated by the media is at least 100 delegates too high because they are using projections from caucuses instead of actual selected delegates. Munisteri says that Romney really only has about 550 delegates and therefore there is still a considerable distance to go before a candidate wins by getting 1144 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Because Romney has refused to participate in the Texas Presidential candidate debate, Munisteri believes this is what has upset Texas voters and has prompted the push for WTA so that Texas would not be ignored.

Munisteri reminded the listening audience that in 2008, Obama and Hillary battled it out until June before settling on Obama. In 1976 the choice of Ronald Reagan as the Republican nominee went right down to the final vote on the convention floor and no one knew who would be the nominee until the National Convention. Munisteri said that there is no reason to rally around a candidate before the nomination process is over and before there is a winner. He said that the best thing to do is to let the process play out fully so that the best nominee will be selected. He said that in 2008 and in 1976, Obama and Reagan had time to get ready for their general election opponent even though they had long party nomination process.

Chairman Munisteri said that even though states had to submit their rules to the Republican National Committee back in October 1, 2011, a waiver from those rules could be sought by vote of the RNC Executive Committee.

Munisteri went on to explain that it was the RNC that forced Texas to move to proportional from its previous delegate winner take all hybrid plan because the RNC wanted to punish Texas for scheduling its primaries in March. However, now that our primaries have been moved back to May 29, he believes it is fair to move our state back to its original rules. Munisteri explained that Texas could make an argument that we are not changing our rules by going back to winner take all and therefore should not be punished. We are not changing the rules, we are just going back to our ORIGINAL rules that were in place since the last convention before the RNC forced us to change. He explained that the Delegates at the National Convention have the ultimate power to punish or not punish Texas because there can always be a floor fight at the National Convention to challenge the RNC’s credentials or rules committee; a successful challenge would mean the entire Texas delegation could be seated.

Brad Watson’s interview with Steve Munisteri is the first seven minutes of the video.

Happy Easter. Christ is Risen!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope everyone is spending this Easter holiday with their families and friends!

It is important that, in the middle of our bickering over political stuff, we stop and remember that there are more important things in life.

At the end of our debates, regardless of the outcome, we should all come together and move forward and we should always stop along the way to remember the things that are more important.

Sincerely,
David Bellow

John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.

Texas “Winner Take All” is NOT about Romney or Santorum. It is about TEXAS

Texas MUST go to Winner Take All in order to be relevant in this Presidential Election. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain! This has nothing to do with Santorum or Romney. It is about TEXAS. Also, the RNC and DOJ cannot stop us or scare us!

I am a Santorum supporter and I am a Texas GOP SREC member in favor of an Emergency Meeting to go to Winner Take All, but it is very important to make it clear that I have been for winner take all WELL BEFORE I was a Santorum supporter. In fact, I was never in agreement with Texas being forced by the RNC last year to change from to Winner Take All to proportional. My past blog articles serve as proof that winner take all has never been about Santorum for me because I have been for Winner Take All well before I supported Santorum. My support for winner take all has always been about giving Texas a voice and making us relevant. We are the biggest Republican State in the nation and we are always overlooked! Could winner take all for Texas benefit Santorum? Sure it could. That is why the Santorum campaign is really getting on board with this and it is exciting his base. But it could also benefit Romney if he comes here and campaigns hard because with his money and network he could win Texas and get all of our delegates under winner take all. Winner take all is not about Santorum or Romney. It is about giving Texas a voice and getting candidates to recognize Texas and campaign here and have debates here.

Texas GOP SREC Members are for Winner Take All to Make Texas Relevant, Not to Help Santorum or Hurt Romney

The media is making it look like the push for winner take all is about trying to help Santorum. The truth is that Santorum supporters are not the only SREC members in favor of winner take all. In fact, the entire SREC (including Romney supporters) voted to last month to pass the resolution warning Romney to come to our debate. That is proof that this is not about Romney or Santorum. We are just tired of being ignored. This is about making Texas relevant instead of having candidates ignore us every election. A national debate can give Texas a place in the national race and it is insulting for the frontrunner Romney to reject coming to our Nationally Televised Texas Presidential Debate. Winner take all will make Texas relevant on a national level because all the candidates will want to come to TX to compete for our 155 delegates. Winner take all will shake things up and keep the race alive until Texas votes. Santorum will compete hard in Texas because he wants to keep Romney from getting 1144 delegates and force a brokered convention. Romney will want to come to Texas and campaign here to try to get our 155 delegates to help secure his bid for the nomination. This is not about Santorum or Romney. This is about Texas. Considering all the national attention we have stirred up, I think it is safe to say that it is already working!

The DOJ and RNC will not Hurt or Stop Us from going Winner Take All

In February, I proposed going back to Winner Take All but the SREC voted against it because we did not have an election date set in stone yet and there was fear that the DOJ would push our election day back even more if we tried to go back to Winner Take All. Now that our election date is set in stone, the DOJ does not worry us anymore. If we go to Winner Take All now then what do we have to fear from the DOJ? The DOJ cannot push back our election. The only thing that the DOJ can do is to say no and try to get an injunction to stop us from going to Winner Take All. What do we have to lose? I do not think the DOJ will reject it anyways because if they do reject us then that just sets us up to be able to sue them because it is CLEARLY unconstitutional to tell Texas that we cannot be Winner Take All, but at the same time they allow other states to be Winner Take All.

As far as the RNC goes, we are not worried about them either. We followed their rules and went to proportional when our election was before April. Now that our election is after April, due to liberals and a federal court unfairly pushing our election back, we should be allowed to be Winner Take All like everyone else. The RNC has no authority to punish us anyways. Only the national convention can do that. The RNC spokesman try to say that we will for sure be punished, but in reality, they cannot punish us and the only way we can be punished is if someone at the national convention objects to what we did and then the entire body would vote. I do not believe that the majority of the national convention delegates would vote to penalize Texas for going Winner Take All because any state with an April or later Primary is allowed to be Winner Take All.

Proportional is not More Fair vs. Winner Take All

If you run for city council with 2 other people do you split up the city council seat based on the percentage of the votes you get? NO. The person who gets the most votes wins the city council seat. The same thing with the Presidential race, there is no proportional “popular vote” in the Presidential race. If a candidate wins a state in the November General Election then they get all of the Electoral College delegates from that state. The same thing should apply to the Republican Nomination. The Republican candidate who wins Texas should be the candidate that the State of Texas gets behind. Otherwise we might as well throw states rights out the window and just go to a nation-wide popular vote (proportional).

We Have Nothing to Lose But Everything to Gain! Let’s go Winner Take All!

Ultimately, we have nothing to lose but everything to gain. We are completely irrelevant now as it is so no threats of penalties can make us any more irrelevant than we already are. On the other hand, we have everything to gain by taking a shot at changing our rules and possibly putting Texas in the spotlight and making us a must win state that candidates will not want to ignore. Win or lose, we should stand up for Texas and fight back against us slipping off into not ever being relevant. Our message to America should be 'Don't Mess With Texas' the race is not over, bring it on!
