Rep. Mike Hamilton Tax Liens, Sexual Harassment Allegations, and New Ethics Violations
Rep. Mike Hamilton Tax
Liens, Sexual Harassment Allegations, and New Ethics Violations
Texas Conservative
Republican News has received documents over the weekend revealing multiple Tax
Liens, judgments, fines and even sexual allegations against Mike “Tuffy”
Hamilton
- Hamilton allegedly
made sexually harassing comments in a Hearing to a female State Rep.
when he asked State Rep. Marisa Marquez if her mountains “breasts?”
were real or man-made.
- Mike Hamilton Tax Liens
for not paying Taxes (thousands of dollars)
-
Mike Hamilton Ethics Commission Judgments and thousands of dollars in fines
for misuse of funds
-
Complaints for using campaign funds to pay for luxury hotels in California and
lunch “meetings” at Hooters
- Mike Hamilton NEW Ethics Violations for not reporting money and
illegal billboards
- Hamilton demeans
fellow Lawmakers by referring to the ones he does not like as “Boys” and “Young
Ladies” instead of calling them by name or title
- Mike Hamilton has used his Taxpayer funded State Capitol office
as the location to have beer parties for young interns and lobbyists. He
calls it “Tuffy Tuesdays”
-
Allegations that Mike Hamilton turned down an offer to be on the important
Appropriations Committee because it would be “too much work” even though it
would have been beneficial to his constituents
The Gloves have Come
off in HD19 State Rep Election: Mike Hamilton Getting Desperate in race VS.
Super Conservative James White
These factual documents revealing Mike Hamilton’s vast
number of ethics problems were sent to Texas Conservative Republican News this
weekend following Mike Hamilton’s campaign falsely stating that James White had
resigned from his teaching job due to complaints. The media that originally
reported this allegation from Hamilton had to correct their articles after it
was revealed that Hamilton lied. The truth is that James White was not only given
a contract extension, but he was also given stellar year-end reviews. James
White only resigned from Livingston ISD after he was offered a teaching job at
Woodville ISD because WISD is much closer to his home in east Texas than LISD.
James White did have a complaint against him for including the Supreme Court Texas
Sodomy Case in his 12th grade class discussion of important Supreme
Court Decisions. The investigation that was closed quickly and James White went
on to get stellar reviews and a contract extension.
This is not the first
time Hamilton’s campaign has been caught lying. One flyer that Hamilton
sent out said that the Baker institute ranked White as the second most liberal
after every session White has been in. This was blatantly false. White has only
been in ONE session and the final 2011 session Baker Institute had White ranked
as a top Conservative and Mike Hamilton as being one of the bottom ranking
Republican conservatives. It was Hamilton who was actually ranked as the second
most liberal republican by the Baker institute following the 2009 session. Texans
for Fiscal Responsibility rated Tuffy only C+ fiscal conservative. Texas Eagle
Forum gave him a 32% social conservative score. Young Conservatives of Texas
gave him a 65% score. James White got a 92% Social Conservative Rating from
Texas Eagle Forum after the 2011 session and White got an A+ Fiscal
Conservative Rating from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility after the 2011
session. In that same flyer, Hamilton says that White moved into the district
to run for office. The truth is that White has been in East Texas for nearly a
decade. Two years ago White stepped up and ran and beat longtime Democrat State
Rep Jim McReynolds. White has been in office for one term and after
redistricting, Hardin County was put into his district. Mike Hamilton lost
Hardin County after redistricting. Mike Hamilton moved to Hardin County only a
FEW MONTHS ago to run against James White. Hamilton is the one who moved to run
for office, not James White.
Hamilton also lied to his constituents by directly telling
his conservative voters that he killed a casino gambling bill when Hamilton was
actually the person who wrote the bill and did everything he could to pass the
bill. The bill dies when Hamilton did not get the votes to move forward.
Mike Hamilton cannot combat his low conservative voting record,
liberal votes and multiple ethics violation judgments compared to James White’s super conservative rankings and record, so
Hamilton is attempting to confuse and distract voters.
Voters are
not happy about all this deception. The KBTV Fox 4 recently reported the
outrage from the Southeast Texas Tea Party after Hamilton backed out of a Tea
Party debate only days before the debate was to take place. I guess Hamilton
did not want to have to face the tough questions he would face in a debate with
super conservative James White.
Tax Lien Documents
These two documents
show that Hamilton did not pay his taxes and the State had to levy multiple tax
liens against Hamilton for thousands of dollars.

Alleged Sexual Harassment Comment
Documents
Attached is an El Paso Times News
article. This article was sent to me as evidence to an alleged sexually harassing
comment towards State Representative Marisa Marquez. This
article details a hearing about funds for the Franklin Mountains in El Paso.
The hearing was quick because the committee already knew they wanted to table
it. Mike Hamilton did have only one question for Democrat Rep. Marisa Marquez before they tabled the amendment. Hamilton asked
her if her mountains are real or man-made. Why would Mike Hamilton ask if these
nearly 8,000 foot high mountains that surround El Paso are “real or man-made?”
Hamilton is not stupid enough to think the Franklin Mountains are man-made…. He
might be stupid enough to joke around and take a inside-joke shot at this Rep. by asking if HER “mountains” are real or not…
Hamilton also only referred to this fellow State Rep. Marisa
Marquez as young lady instead of her name or title. This is the same demeaning
attitude he has towards State Rep James White. Hamilton commonly fails to call
James White by his name and instead refers to White as “boy”. Well Mr. Hamilton,
that “boy” James White is no boy. He was a Captain in the Army serving under
President Reagan and was even in Berlin when the wall came down.

Texas Ethics Commission Judgment and
Fine Documents
Hamilton was fined thousands of
dollars for using his Campaign money to pay his family members
Campaign Finance Report Documents
Show Misuse of Money
These documents show where Mike
Hamilton used his campaign funds to stay at a Luxury Resort in California and
also to have a “lunch meeting” at Hooters, a place known for
waitresses in tight shirts and short shorts.
Pictures and Documents of NEW Ethics
Violations
Mike
Hamilton is facing new Texas Ethics Violations and possible fines for putting
up several deceptive and illegal billboards up and also for not reporting
campaign funds and expenditures. The billboards (see picture) clearly do not
have the required disclaimer that this was a political advertisement. Hamilton
just wanted everyone in James White’s district to think that this was not a
political ad and Hamilton was just going to assume the position of being THEIR new
State Rep. Also, the campaign finance reports for “Friends of Mike Hamilton”
have $0 listed as Contributions and $0 listed as expenditures. This Hamilton
PAC has been listed as the one paying for Hamilton’s website, all of Hamilton’s
campaign mailers and tv attack ads. The Texas Ethics Commission Website shows
that several other Political Action Committees have reported given thousands of
dollars to friends of Mike Hamilton. Why has Hamilton’s group only reported
ZERO dollars for contributions and expenditures?

Governor Perry and Top Texas Conservative Groups Endorse Black State Rep James White over Mike Tuffy Hamilton in HD 19 Republican Primary Election

The Governor of Texas, along with other high ranking Republican officials, will be stopping by Southeast Texas soon. They will be coming here to endorse State Representative James White in his re-election big to the Texas House of Representatives against Mike Hamilton in the HD 19 Primary Race which includes Hardin County, Polk County, Tyler County, Jasper County and Newton County. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has already endorsed James White.
James White is one of the few minority (black) elected officials in the Texas Legislature. That is not why he is getting so much support though. James White is getting so much support because he was a “rock star conservative” in his first term as a Republican State Representative.
James White looks young and possibly not set in his conservative values, but the truth is that he is older than he looks and he is well grounded in his conservative Republican principles. Think about this, James White was an Army officer who served in Berlin under President Ronald Reagan and James White was even in Berlin when the Berlin Wall came down. He is now a rancher, a teacher and an East Texas Conservative Republican State Representative.
He got into the Texas Legislature by challenging and beating long time East Texas Democrat State Representative Jim McReynolds. He did not stop there though. He pushed forward and boldly stood for Conservative Christian values during his entire first term. When many State Representatives went along with the establishment and voted Yes to Joe Straus as Speaker of the House, James White stood up and voted no. Joe Straus is a RINO Speaker of the House. He was elected to be the speaker by the Democrats. Straus has been supported by Planned Parenthood and he has even funded and supported Democrats to beat Republicans. Voting against Joe Straus was the first conservative vote by James White, but it was not his last.
James White finished the legislative session with one of the top Conservative voting records out of all of the State Representatives in Texas. He was not a representative that goes to Austin and then you rarely hear about what he is doing because he blends in with the crowd. James White made waves and stood strong for conservative values against the establishment and he will continue to do so.
James White has garnered impressive top
Conservative Voting Scores and/or endorsements from all of the most trusted
conservative organizations in Texas, such as Texas Right to Life (http://www.texasrighttolife.com/legislators.asp),
the Texas Eagle Forum (http://texaseagle.org/legislative-scorecard/2011-scorecard.html),
the Heritage Alliance (http://www.heritagealliance.com/tcr/tcrhome.php),
Texans for Fiscal Responsibility (http://www.empowertexans.com/2011-fri-taxpayer-champions/),
and the Young Conservatives of Texas (http://www.yct.org/wp-content/uploads/ratings/YCT_82nd_Session_Ratings.pdf).
Mike Hamilton has told me that the reason Susan Combs is endorsing James White is because Bob Perry (a wealthy Texas home builder) and Texans for Lawsuit Reform have given large contributions to both Susan Combs and James White. Hamilton asked me to look into that and post it on my blog. To be fair to Hamilton, I did look into that connection. What I found is that Bob Perry and TLR both contribute to most Republicans in Texas. In fact, Mike Hamilton has received well over $80,000 from Bob Perry and also large amounts from TLR. The idea that Susan Combs is endorsing James White based on contributions from Bob Perry or TLR is something I do not think is right because Bob Perry and TLR have also contributed tens of thousands to Mike Hamilton too.
I am a little upset that Mike Hamilton and James White are facing each other. Mike Hamilton is not a bad guy. I have had some issues with Mike Hamilton over the years like when Hamilton recently authored a bill to try to bring casinos to Texas and when he voted for Straus to be Speaker of the House (Straus gets his family money from gambling businesses and would greatly benefit from Casinos in Texas). Overall though, Mike Hamilton is a decent guy whom I have known for some time. He is not as good of a conservative or as willing to stand up and be outspoken as James White though. I don't like to play politics or vote for someone because they are my friend or because they have been in office for a long time. I always vote for the best guy and the best guy in this race is James White. That is why I have also made my final decision to endorse James White for State Rep over Mike Hamilton. I have no ill will towards Mike Hamilton. I think Joe Straus is using Mike Hamilton. Joe Straus is attempting to oust Conservative Republican James White by putting Hardin County into James White's new district. Joe Straus knew that Mike Hamilton (one of the Chairmen under Straus) was planning to move from Orange County to Hardin County after redistricting. Straus wanted to try to get James White out of the legislature so Straus put James White in the same district as Mike Hamilton. Mike Hamilton ultimately was the one to make the decision to move to Hardin County to face James White. Hamilton could have stayed in Orange County and would have run against State Rep Allan Ritter. Ritter is only 50% conservative and there are even Democrats with a higher conservative rating that Ritter. Hamilton would have easily been the better conservative in a race against Ritter and I would have campaigned hard for Hamilton to beat Ritter. I wish Hamilton would have stayed in Orange County. Hamilton did not decide to stay in Orange County though. Hamilton decided to move to Hardin County and face Super Conservative Republican James White. That was a bad move because James White is the better, more exciting Conservative Republican.
I, along with Governor Perry, other Statewide leaders, and the top Conservative and Republican organizations in Texas, have or are going to endorse and support State Representative James White in the Texas House District 19 Republican Primary Election on May 29th, 2012
Sincerely,
David Bellow

Joe Straus Attacks Conservatives: Raising Money to Defeat Republican Incumbent James White
Joe Straus (Texas Speaker of House) is OPENLY launching an all out attack to oust one of our most conservative State Representatives, James White. Straus is holding a fundraiser in Austin this week to raise money to defeat Republican Incumbent James White.
I do not support James White based on the fact that he is one of the few Black Republican state leaders. I do not vote based on race. I support James White because he is one of our most Conservative State Representatives! White was already hurt in redistricting (along with many other conservatives who Straus did not like) and now Straus is openly campaigning against him. WHY?? It might have something to do with James White beating long time Democrat Jim McReynolds (a Straus Chairman) in the 2010 election. Also, a new Texas Tribune poll shows that Rick Santorum is going to win Texas by a landslide. Straus responds by endorsing Mitt Romney.
Note: I have no ill-will towards Mike Hamilton. Hamilton has been my State Rep for some time now. I wish Hamilton would not have moved. I wish Hamilton would have stayed where he was at and he would have run against moderate State Rep. Allan Ritter. I would have supported Hamilton over Ritter. Instead, Hamilton decided to play politics with redistricting and move to another county to run against Super Conservative James White. I do not vote based on who my friends are or who has been my State Rep for the last decade. I vote based on who the best candidate is. Between Hamilton and White, White is more conservative hands down. White has my vote. Also, it is now clear to me that Hamilton is being supported by Straus because Hamilton tried to push a gambling bill for Straus in the last legislative session. This is very disappointing...
