I hope everyone is spending this Easter holiday with their families and friends!
It is important that, in the middle of our bickering over political stuff, we stop and remember that there are more important things in life.
At the end of our debates, regardless of the outcome, we should all come together and move forward and we should always stop along the way to remember the things that are more important.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.

In fact, while the West and East Coasts are beefing up their Air Defense Systems in 2013, Obama is actually trying to shut down air defense systems along the southern border of the United States (including along the U.S. Mexico Border and the Gulf of Mexico Coast). Just a couple of months ago I broke this story: Obama Closing Air Defense System on U.S./Mexico Border: Texas & America Vulnerable to Attack from Low Altitude Missiles and Aircraft. After widespread outrage, the Air Force has said they would keep this Tethered Aerostat Radar System air defense system up until at least the end of this year instead of closing TARS at the beginning of the year as originally planned.
When planning for an attack from the enemy, all options must be considered. This includes the option that a country planning to attack the U.S. knows the East and West Coasts are well protected and therefore the country will try to attack a less protected state along with Gulf of Mexico. Just last year, a Russian nuclear-powered attack submarine armed with long-range cruise missiles operated undetected in the Gulf of Mexico for several weeks.
Why attack Texas? Is anyone surprised that North Korea's hit list includes the capitol city of Texas? You shouldn't be surprised. The Republican controlled State of Texas is a shining example of hope, prosperity, opportunity, and economic stability in America. In fact, the State of Texas is a perennial top 15 largest economy in the world compared to entire countries.
Voting is a Right; Marriage is Not
But this is not what the Court is being asked to do in this case. The Court is being asked to overturn a law that does not threaten or strip any group of a right.
In order for judicial review to serve its purpose, and not step into the area of judicial activism, the Court can only overturn popularly enacted laws when those laws violate rights. However, not everything qualifies as a right. Just because a person or a group wants something does not mean it is a right.
The clearest definition of rights can be found in an Aristotelean understanding of human nature which serves as the basis of virtue ethics and serves as a foundational aspect of the philosophies of Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine. Moreover, the Aristotelean justification of rights is what our natural law understanding of rights is built upon as it was handed down to us by our founders, most especially Thomas Jefferson.
Aristotle determined that man was by nature a political being because he needs to communicate and reason. Thus, a person, to reach their full personhood and live naturally, must be free to communicate and reason. Rights are grounded in this understanding of human nature. A right is something that allows a person to communicate and reason. Voting is a right because it allows an individual to communicate with the political establishment. Censorship is a violation of one’s rights because it stifles a person’s ability to reason and communicate. Coercion, compulsion and bribery are unethical because they deny a person’s ability to reason and think freely.
Marriage is not a right because it does nothing to stop reason or communication. And because it is not a right, the Supreme Court should restrain themselves and let the voice of the majority in California stand. In fact, the Supreme Court would violate the rights of the voters of California by overturning Proposition 8.
In this instance, gay and lesbian couples have not had their rights violated; they simply lost on a policy issue. Had the voters of California denied gays and lesbians the right to vote in the 2008 elections when Proposition 8 was on the ballot, or if California passed a law that would only allow heterosexuals to vote or have the freedom speech, then an appeal to the Supreme Court could be justified. But in this instance there has been no violations of rights which would make any decision to overturn Proposition 8 an abuse of our republican system of government.

Reminder: How Mexico Treats “Undesirable” Foreignersby Michelle Malkin
Creators SyndicateCopyright 2013
American politicians in both parties are stampeding all over themselves to pander to Mexico and adopt mass illegal alien amnesty schemes. But while the Mexican government lobbies for more “humane” treatment of illegal border crossers from their country into ours, Mexico remains notoriously restrictionist toward “undesirable” foreigners who break their laws or threaten their security.
Despite widely touted immigration “reforms” adopted in 2011, Mexico still puts Mexico first — as any country that is serious about protecting its sovereignty should and would.
Article 33 of Mexico’s constitution establishes the right of the president to detain and deport “any foreigner” and prohibits foreigners from participating “in any way” in the political affairs of the country.
While you read this passage, dwell on the demagogic rhetoric of meddling Mexican consular officials and lobbyists who assail America for its (poorly enforced) detention and deportation policies:
“The President of the Republic shall have the power to expel from national territory any foreigner, according to the law and after a hearing. The law shall establish the administrative procedure for this purpose, as well as the place where the foreigner should be detained and the time for that. Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.”
Article 32 of Mexico’s constitution unapologetically bans non-native born residents from holding sensitive jobs and joining the country’s military. Preference is given unabashedly to Mexicans over foreigners.
While you read this passage, contemplate the inexorable push by open-borders groups to secure illegal alien “rights” to American jobs, American military assignments, American driver’s licenses, discounted U.S. college tuition and Obamacare:
“Only Mexicans by birth can perform all government employments, positions, or commissions in which the status of citizenship is indispensable. During peacetime, foreigners shall neither serve in the Army nor in the police bodies. During peacetime, only Mexicans by birth can serve in the Army, in the Navy or in the Air Force as well can perform any employment or commission within such corporations.
The same condition applies to captains, pilots, skippers, ship engineers, flight engineers and, in general, to every crew member in a ship or an airplane carrying the Mexican flag. In the same way, only Mexicans by birth can be port harbormasters, steersmen and airport superintendents.
Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners, under equal circumstances, for all kind of concessions, employments, positions or commissions of the government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable.”
While amnesty advocates and civil liberties zealots in the U.S. decry “police state” tactics against illegal aliens, Mexico fiercely maintains laws against illegal border crossings; “verification visits” to enforce visa conditions; requirements that foreigners produce proof of legal status on demand; and enforcement and cooperation between and among immigration officials and law enforcement authorities at all levels in Mexico. Native-born Mexicans are also empowered to make citizens arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

Indicted and Arrested! Former Jasper, TX Police Chief's Son, Ronnie Pearson, gets Child Rape Charges
I have just confirmed with the Jasper County Jail that Former Jasper, TX Police Chief's son, Ronnie Pearson, has been indicted and Booked on charges that include sexual assault of a child and indecency with a Child. Kudos to Texas Ranger Ken Parks and Hardin County District Attorney David Sheffield for investigating and securing the indictment.
Ronnie Pearson was indicted March 26th, 2013 by a Jasper County Grand Jury. His indictment did not initially appear on the list of indictments from the Grand Jury because it was a field indictment. That means the indictment was not released to the public until Ronnie Pearson had been arrested and served the indictment and charges. After I posted this article, KBMT 12 News is the only news outlet so far that has run a story about this shocking news, Great Job KBMT!
I first broke a story last year revealing that there was an investigation into Fired Jasper Chief Rodney Pearson Covering-up of Child Rape Charges Against his Son Ronnie Pearson. This story was double shocking because, not only did you have allegations of a child getting raped and then allegedly forced by the rapist to get an abortion at Planned Parenthood, but you also had allegations that controversial Jasper Police Chief Rodney Pearson had tried to cover up the rape and not investigate. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any local media to cover this shocking story because the investigation was secret and so the media could not really verify the allegations like I was able to with my sources. I even had some people who probably thought I made the whole story up, haha. Well, I certainly do not make things up and this indictment is finally the proof that should get the media to cover this shocking story.
This indictment against Rodney Pearson's son is also more proof to show that Rodney Pearson was fired from being Police Chief for good cause. The left wing national media circled the town of Jasper last year with outrageous claims that Rodney Pearson was being fired only because he is black.

Early morning February 27th, 2013 there were reports of bright fireballs over East Texas and West Louisiana skies.
Robert Lunsford of the American Meteor Society determined that the fireball event was the result of Chinese Rocket CZ-4B crashing back to earth.
Lunsford made his determination using information from Aerospace.org that says the rocket was launched May 10th, 2012 and was expected to re-enter the atmosphere on February 27th, 2013. Aerospace.org also posted a map that showed the trajectory of the rocket. The trajectory brought the rocket over the area where the lights were seen (see image below).
Now, nearly a month later, Dean Gents in Jasper County contacted KBMT Channel 12 news in Beaumont, TX to report debris found on his property. Dean Gents emailed me a couple of pictures that he took when he discovered the remnants of this Chinese Rocket (see 2 pictures below). KBMT 12 News went out to the property and found that one beach ball size object left a 9 inch crater (see picture of debris above from KBMT)
NASA has been contacted about the debris but they have not responded. An Aerospace Engineer from California did respond and he believes the debris is a pressure tank from the Chinese Rocket CZ-4B that was seen crashing to earth in the early morning of Feb 27th, 2013.
The Jasper County Judge Mark Allen is seen in the picture below with the rocket debris. Judge Allen says that similar rocket debris was found weeks earlier at a nearby property.
Chinese Rockets crashing down in Texas? Believe it! Makes you wonder what else the Chinese has flying over America with cameras or even weapons....

Julian Castro Investigated for Accepting Illegal Campaign Money along with 8 other San Antonio Texas Democrats
In an official response to nine Sworn Complaints, the Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) has notified most members of the San Antonio City Council they are being investigated for multiple campaign finance violations.
Mayor Julian Castro, Council members Cris Medina and Diego Bernal had the most alleged violations at over 200 each.
The Sworn Complaints allege 41 instances of accepting donations from corporations. Corporate donations are, if done knowingly, a 3rd degree felony offense. All nine complaints alleged these offenses. Well known names include MacDonalds, Inc., Holiday Inns, Inc. and Texas Associaton of Realtors.
The Texas Ethics Advisory Board (TEAB) reports that more than fifteen more Sworn Complaints will be initiated on the corporations who contributed to the council members campaigns. Pending the results of the TEC investigations, the TEAB will refer any felonies to Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed.
Another frequent complaint was the diversion of campaign funds to personal use. If confirmed, this would make Mayor Castro and Council members Cris Medina and Diego Bernal and others civilly liable to the State of Texas including court costs.
Other frequent alleged violations of State law included failure to report out of state travel, filing late reports and having serious contribution balance discrepancies – unaccounted for money.
Mr. Jim Doyle, Mr Bill Berntsen, Mr. Alvin Schleiske and Mr. Tom Curry, well-known Woodlands TEA party supporters and community activists, filed the complaints after noticing the alleged campaign finance violations.
The Mayor and the eight council members will have to answer to the allegations with an explanation or corrected reports or both by April 15.
They signed their campaign finance reports under the penalty of perjury, and bear the responsibility for checking their reports accuracy and fully disclosing the information required by state law.
Making a false, material, perjurious statement during or in connection with an official Texas Ethics Commission proceeding constitutes aggravated perjury, a felony of the third degree.
Doyle, Berntsen, Schleiske, Curry and the TEAB are members of a large group of citizen-taxpayers in suburban Houston and surrounding counties who conduct statewide audits of progressive candidates, officeholders and political action committees who have long been contributing to the runaway growth of government and the loss of constitutional authority. In this case, the approval by the San Antonio City Council of spousal benefits for homosexual couples brought scrutiny by the above mentioned complainants.

“EVERYONE’S SAVINGS” BILL SURPASSES BENCHMARK NUMBER OF COAUTHORS, FAVORABLY REPORTED
Measure to Expand Savings Opportunities for Low-Income Families Gains Over 110 Co-Authors, Favorably Reported Out of Ways and Means Committee
(Longview) – Representative David Simpson (R-Longview) announced today that HB 78, a bill that will expand savings opportunities for low and middle-income families, has surpassed 110 co-authors. The “Everyone’s Savings” bill removes the requirement to collect sales taxes on the purchase of gold and silver coins and bullion below $1000. Currently, purchases above $1000 are not taxed, allowing higher-income Texans to save and invest in precious metals without a tax penalty.
“This bill will remove a barrier to savings for low- and middle-income families,” said Rep. Simpson. “For a long time, higher-income families have been able to protect their earnings by investing in precious metals without a tax penalty. HB 78 will afford that same opportunity to everyone.”
HB 78 enjoys broad support in both parties and across all parts of the state. The bill was referred to the Ways and Means Committee where it was last night reported favorably and unanimously to consideration by the full House.
Ways and Means Committee Chairman and bill joint-author Harvey Hilderbran also stated, “With HB 78, the Legislature has the chance to expand savings opportunities for all Texans, regardless of income or class. This is about basic fairness for all our citizens. I am glad to joint-author the bill and encourage my fellow legislators to help us pass this common sense measure.”
A nearly identical measure was adopted by the House through floor amendments last session but was not included in the final conference committee bill.
Representative Simpson, Republican from Longview, serves House District 7 which is comprised of Gregg and Upshur counties.

Texas Teacher Wears "Vote Obama" Shirt at Lumberton ISD - Vulgar, Anti-Christian/GOP/Fox News Pics on Twitter - Uses CSCOPE

It is interesting to note that on Michelle Champagne's LISD Teacher Webpage, she says that the students in her class only do CSCOPE for the first 9 weeks!
Tim Tebow – Collin Klein Bill Filed
We are referring to this legislation as the “Tim Tebow bill,” since he was a home schooled student who played with a public school team in Florida and later earned a scholarship to the University of Florida. Once at the University of Florida, he won a Heisman Trophy in 2007 and now plays in the NFL.
Collin Klein, Heisman Trophy candidate last year from Kansas State in the Big 12, was also a home school student who played football on a public school team in Colorado.
We are very close to having a Senate sponsor for the same language as HB 1374 in the Texas Senate. While a bill has been filed in the Senate (SB 573) that would allow private schools to take part in UIL in a limited way, it does not specifically include home schools.
This bill is essentially the same language as the Arizona law that has been in place in that state for almost ten years. It states that students who live in the district can participate, but students cannot withdraw from a public school and compete as a home school student in the same school year. It also requires parents to assure each reporting period that the student is passing their classes.
This legislation is simply allowing home schoolers the option to compete in UIL activities. Home schoolers in highly populated areas who have access to a well-organized, successful home school league would have less of an incentive to join UIL. On the other hand, home schoolers in rural areas have limited opportunities to compete in athletic sporting events. The UIL legislation would enable such home schoolers to compete in athletic sports that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
We were very pleased with initial discussions with members of both the House Public Education Committee as well as members of the Education Committee in the Texas Senate. Stay tuned as we move forward on what could be a momentous decision by the Texas legislature. This is an issue that THSC has been working on for almost twenty years.
We continue to work diligently to preserve the freedom of Texas parents to home school. The only way we, as home schoolers, can truly keep ourselves free of regulation is to vigilantly oppose any regulation presented every time the Texas legislature is in session. Each legislative session, THSC leads the battle against any regulation of home schooling and parental rights. We would not support this bill if we believed for a moment that it would jeopardize our precious rights.

A CSCOPE approved supplement for Texas Schools blames the 9/11 terrorist attack on America
Texas mother reportedly angry over 9/11 quiz she claims blamed US for attacks
Thursday, March 21, 2013
A Texas mother is outraged by a school quiz given to her son that seemingly blames the United States for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.
Kara Sands posted the test her son received in fifth grade at the Flour Bluff Independent School District in September on her Facebook page, which attracted more than 1,600 users in support of her concerns. Sands told KRISTV.com that she was most dismayed by a question that asked why the U.S. may be a target for terrorism. Her son chose the correct answer to the test that covered material from a video students watched in class: "Decisions we made in the United States have had negative effects on people elsewhere."
"I'm not going to justify radical terrorists by saying we did anything to deserve that; over 3,000 people died," Sands told the station.
Sands later met with the school's principal, her son's teacher and contacted the video's distributor, Safari Montage, whose representatives stand behind the video but have already changed the corresponding quiz.
School officials said Safari Montage representatives apologized for the wording of the question, saying it was not their intent to blame the United States for the terror attacks.

Sometimes though, change is hard to get unless you really stir things up and expose enough problems. Although I did not blame the board, what I did do (via writing articles and contacting the school board) is I helped show the board, and the Lumberton community, that CSCOPE is very bad, and then pleaded with the board to take action.
I am very excited to say that the Lumberton School Board has listened and they have formed a committee to examine how CSCOPE can be replaced at Lumberton ISD.
I encourage other parents and taxpayers in other Texas communities to do the same thing. Go to your local school board meetings, speak to the board and plead with them to stop using CSCOPE because of all of the problems. Then take it further, get a group together and start speaking louder. They might not listen to one voter, but they will listen when a group of voters starts demanding they do away with CSCOPE.
This latest incident of public corruption shocked me and will likely shock anyone in Texas, or America for that matter.
I am glad to see that Hardin County Sheriff Ed Cain took swift action and removed Jerry Roberts from the force until the investigation is over, which at that time if the evidence shows Jerry Roberts really had child porn, he needs to be fired.
This has also been a hard few months for District Attorney David Sheffield. His own Hardin County District Attorney office clerk, Philip Rodriguez, was recently hit with a public corruption scandal when it was discovered that one of his own employees was stealing money from the public. I was glad to see that Sheffield, like Ed Cain, also took swift action and fired this employee. Great job Hardin County Treasurer Sharon Overstreet for discovering the theft!
Public Corruption is everywhere. This is especially true in East Texas. That is why we should always stay vigilant. We should always ask questions. We should always demand transparency. When we find the public corruption, we need to expose it so that it will deter future public corruption and so that the bad guys will be brought to justice.
Unfortunately, this will not be the last story of public corruption in Hardin County and Lumberton, TX. Other instances of corruption are being investigated as I type this article. Check back here in the future so that you do not miss when I post new articles about public corruption in East Texas!
The following are some of the articles I have written over the years regarding public corruption in East Texas and Hardin County:
